I used to be fair as a kid BUT DUE TO TANNING MY SKIN HAS BECOME VERY DARK...PLZ TELL ME HOW TO REMOVE TANNING
Cover up yourself with long sleeve shirts and pants when out in the sun all the time and the tan should fade naturally after a few months or you could do a Michael Jackson skin bleach/peel.
Reply:Well... if your skin has turned to leather, there is not much you can do. Hopefully, it has not gotten to that stage yet, and will fade over time and staying out of the sun.

I have seen women that looked 30 or 40 years older than they were from turning their skin to leather under the sun. Gross...
Reply:theres nothing you can do. maybe go to a spa salon and ask them...they are experts. Or just wear light or white clothing outside to reflect the sun! Good luck!
Reply:cover up and use sunBLOCK to avoid getting even darker
Reply:scrub really hard with soap everyday when you take a shower it will work cause it takes off the dead skin...

What would you suggest for skin tanning?

i am normally fair but nowadays getting tanned

What would you suggest for skin tanning?
try this site
Reply:don't tanning leads to skin cancer and aging. you will look 5 years older for every year you tan. seriously, i'm 38 and people think i'm 24-5. i dont smoke, drink, do drugs, or try to tan. think of the consequences, you burn you learn!
Reply:buy tan natural it works. my opion?
Reply:natural tans when you spend time in the sun is best, but you should always wear sunblock.. sunblock doesnt BLOCK a tan, but it blocks the harmful rays.. dont ever use tanning beds because those rays are harmful to your skin and health, you can always develop skin cancer so you should always be careful.. if you really want a tan though, try the "spray on" types to get eveness which is what some of my friends do, i dont know if lotions will give a good look because it tends to be orange and streak..

but seriously, go to the beach, play in the water, and wear sunblock! the suns rays will bounce off the water to give you natural beauty which is so much prettier!
Reply:u can use some sunscreen lotions(lakme sunscreen lotion, ayur etc). if not after coming back from sunlight wash ur face and then keep rubbing the exposed area with ice cubes for some time, wipe it with cotton wool and tnen apply rose water.

keep on doing it will reduce the tan of ur skin

hope it works
Reply:Use a good sunscreen lotion with max SPF.U have to apply it every 2hrs.Natural way to remove the tan is to mix curd and honey and apply twice a day.
Reply:u must be somewhere in south India as it doesnt happen in east , north n west India. Avoid going out in afternoon. If u go then do take umbrella with u n do apply some sunscreen. I suggest to but one Aloe Vera plant n u can make a paste of its leaves n apply on your skin apart from removing tan it has other good properties.

GOOD LUCK
Reply:sunscreen lotions ......
Reply:do you wanna become fair???
Reply:Go to India --find a beach on the eastern coast --lie on yor front in the early morning and evening--you will get vitaminD ,E and also get tanned--afterwards if u bathe in sea water go to ur rest room and again bathe in good water

I want to tan in a tanning bed how should you lay so that you dont get weird lines?

use this instead. www.lookingtan.com save your skin, and it looks amazing!

I want to tan in a tanning bed how should you lay so that you dont get weird lines?
try a stand up. if you dont want to stand for however long you go in for, just lay normal and about half way through put your arms above your head so you get the bottoms of them and your armpits
Reply:Lay in the bed for the full session, and put your arms in different angles to be sure you get your sides. Finish up in a stand up bed. And then to really make yourself gorgeous do a level 1 or 2 Mystic Tan. This should get you totally looking good.

How many of you like skin tanning?

i mean i saw some sites which gives tips on getting a tan i was wondering if someone really wants to do thatif yes then why?

How many of you like skin tanning?
i know i ain't supposed to tan cuz of skin damage, but in the summer it's like i'm hooked on it cuz i like the way the tan looks on my legs and on the face it seems 2 brighten makeup espscially how the whites of the eyes stand out. it's just hard 2 stop tanning even tho i will pay for it healthwise.
Reply:girls love to tan. it creates endorphins which make people happy.

i think some people tan to much probably cause they are addicted to the good feeling endorphins create

.

I know that tanning in general is not good for you but what,s safer, indoor tanning or out door??

I did an equal amount of both over the course of my lifetime and ended up with melanoma.

Whats a good place to go tanning in north phoenix, arizona?

how long should someone tan and how often?

Whats a good place to go tanning in north phoenix, arizona?
There are several salons in each plaza on each corner that have hot chicks put you in the matrix. once you download, though, you are fried for life.
Reply:DONT TAN!!!! its HORRIBLE for your skin, its worse than the suns UVB and UVA rays. I suggest you stay away from them. (you could become at risk for skin cancer)
Reply:1. In Arizona, anywhere outside, I would imagine.

2. and 3. Never, it's bad for you.
Reply:Just so you know tanning is bad for your skin - why do you think the old fashioned name for companies who dried out animal skins for shoes, handbags etc was called a 'tannery'!
Reply:Outside.

You're in the desert. Spending money on a tanning bed in AZ is a waste of money.
Reply:anywhere outside
Reply:Right out your back door that way it is free,we are known as the VALLEY OF THE SUN for a good reason we have 300 or so sunny days a year.

How quickly does Hawaiian Tropic Dark Tanning Lotion work?

It's the kind with SPF 4 sunscreen. Does it really make you tan faster/darker?

How quickly does Hawaiian Tropic Dark Tanning Lotion work?
omg! such a coincidence! the hawaiin tropic dark tanning lotion with spf 4 is the absolute only tanning lotion i wear outside! after a week of tanning outside every day for an hour with this lotion, i was about 3 shades darker and i had major tan lines! and i mean major! it gets you golden/ dark and lookin like a california girl and you NEVER burn. plus it smells liek coconuts!!! great smell and great product! only stuff i use!!

Reply:i use it and its amazing! it really does work...it makes your tan last longer too
Reply:not very, you have to stay in the sun a lot.

How bad is it to go tanning?

My skin is pretty pale, but I want to get started on a tan, but can't because I work and don't have a lot of time to be out when the sun is.

How bad is it to go tanning?
The more you tan, the more you expose your skin to UV light which can at any time result in a random DNA rearrangement in a skin cell which is what results in melanoma. UV should be avoided as much as possible. Most fair skinned people can tan 2-3 times/month, but hte real risk is impossible to calculate. Tanning also excelerates skin turn-over, which will eventually lead to waxier, wrinkly skin. Try harmless tan sprays.
Reply:It's not bad if you dont go all the time. Try to limit it to a max of once a week.
Reply:probably bad...i go tanning..but i fo it inthe real sun.....lol...as soon as it gets warm i m out in my yard in a bikini tanning....lol

iono for pale skin tho....my skin is mixed..n i dont burn..lol..i just get tan..then tanner..then tannerer...lol
Reply:It's not really good for pale skin...just go for a few minutes until u get used to it...
Reply:Go to a tanning parlor at night when you get off work.
Reply:It is very bad in my opinion my friend went only three times and got skin cancer. There are really powerfull beds out there. It's more fun in the sun just not too much, too much of anything isn't good for you.
Reply:First investigate what tanning really is, in the scientific sense. How it makes most sense to me, the waves in sublight/artifical tanning are radiation. Tanning your skin is actually mutating your skin cells at an accelerated rate. There is always a risk of changing a few cells in your skin witch makes them rapidly clone themselves (cancer). But if you go by statistics, tanning is pretty much 99.975% safe. (can't recall the source from that, it was from a study done in 1998). Browse around, ask a dermatoligist, and so forth. My advice, don't be too quick to change your appearance. Many cultures embrace light colored skin, thinking of it as virgin, or un-touched.
Reply:its bad for ur skin. u can like fri ur insides
Reply:I find it very relaxing to go to the tanning bed. But, with pale skin, you need to use caution.Ask the person at the salon how long they recommend you stay in.And, I wouldnt go every day.

Fake woman?extreme surgery and tanning!!!!!!!!!!?

what do you men and women think about women who turns her self into a walking talking barbie doll .like tans that go to the extrem, surgery over board, nose jobs , boob jobs over board.what do you think of these women who look skin look like carrots.same goes for men.

Fake woman?extreme surgery and tanning!!!!!!!!!!?
They are probably very insecure.
Reply:I think she is a total fake and doesn't belong in this world.
Reply:so you want to know what we think of your avitar?
Reply:I don't like it oine bit! They look totally fake, and stuck up. Like all into them selves they would spend a TON of money making them look, well, worse than they did starting out. I think people should just try and stick to the way the should be.
Reply:well..tanning is very bad for anyone....and people think that skin cancer and such will not affect them....well they will also have wrinkles at an earlier age and leathery skin. As far as the surgery...I would never do it...but if it makes someone feel better...then so be it...however...people should just learn to love the bodies they are in.....people are beautiful in their own way....they should embrace that special beauty. :)
Reply:They balance out people like me who are at the other end of the bell curve when it comes to time and effort spent on primping.
Reply:don't believe in such surgery unless its needed after a bad accident or due 2 an extreme natural deficiency.
Reply:I feel bad for them. I think usually they think that if they could just fix a couple of things, they will feel better about themselves. The reality is that they probably have some self-esteem issues or something else going on in their head that makes them think this way, so they're never really happy with themselves. I understand why some people would get cosmetic surgery though. For example, if someone had a mastectomy or broke their nose and ended up with a bump. But that's just putting things back to what God gave you.
Reply:Acutally men don't like when girls get it cause its wrong. There fake. Also we were born a way we look if u don't like it then i guess just deal with it u know? I guess like nose surgry is okay but like boobs? and ****? Those things are so wrong.
Reply:I hate fake tans, plastic surgery and bleached hair on their owns. All together, I'd probably hate that woman to the extreme. People need to learn to accept who they are and not change themselves so much, just to fit some stupid "ideal" of messed-up beauty we have these days.
Reply:they will pay for those extreme tans in the long run. I can understand having surgery to correct scars, birth defects, etc...

But both women and men have gone way to far trying to achieve perfection. Both sexes can look good in there natural way, and there is also a thing called inner beauty.

What is the best way to have a tanned body and what is the best tanning product?

are there methods to have a good tanned body and what about lancaster and bergasol and... which one of them is the best?

What is the best way to have a tanned body and what is the best tanning product?
I say natural sunlight on a really hot sunny day.

Cocoanut butter is a good natural product.

Natural = best shade of brown.

Orange glow = gross.
Reply:Why do you want to be tan? That's so gross when it's not your natural skin tone, especially when you use tanning beds or that spray stuff.

Do you get as much tan from a canopy tanning bed as a full laydown tanning bed?

well if you actually go and get tanned, the chances are you could get skin cancer. so my advice is to forget about the tanning beds and get oil free, wont clog pores tanning lotion.

What swimsuit to wear for tanning? Help Please !!?

what kind of swimsuit should a guy wear to tan? bikini or thong? no useless answers please, only answer if your comments can help me.

What swimsuit to wear for tanning? Help Please !!?
I assume this is for a tanning salon. In that case, no one will see, so it is really up to you as to where you want your tan line to be. Personally, it would seem odd if a guy had a thong tan line or a short short tan line. Most guys wear the long shorts, so that would be good. Otherwise, go naked! That way you have an even tan -- of course of would put a towel over the package....
Reply:no swimsuit..U don't want any tan lines..go to a nude beach or tan in the corner..
Reply:http://www.tanthrough.com/index.htm

They have swimwear for men that isn't revealing but allows the sun rays to go through so you can get an all over tan.

What's wrong with me tanning?

When i tan like a week later my skin becomes to peel whats the problem ?

What's wrong with me tanning?
Any tanning, from a tanning booth or outside is not good for your skin. It will dry out your skin and can make you get skin cancer. Also, tanning booths age your skin. So in 5-10 years, you can look 5-20 years older than your actual age.
Reply:As a long time former tanner, I can tell you my body is covered with dark moles (and I have olive skin to begin with which is "supposed to be safest) and I have skin cancer. There is no "safe" tanning. Please learn from my mistakes.
Reply:nothing is normal. but you should probably use protection for your skin, when i was little the same thing used to happen to me.
Reply:Your not getting a tan your getting sun burnt!!!
Reply:You're burning. If you're tanning outside, you need to really watch and make sure you don't burn. Get some of that hawaiin tropic stuff, it has like SPF 4 so you'll still tan and keep applying it about every 15 minutes that you lay out. You'll get brown without burning. When you start to feel hot, you're burning, so go inside then. Also, you need at least a day inbetween tanning to build back up the vitamins in your skin that make you turn brown. In between, use lots of moisturizer b/c hydrated skin tans better.

If you go in the tanning bed, you just have to not go in as long and take a day break in between sessions.

Just be aware that it takes a couple months of tanning to get golden, so you might just be rushing it a little too much and that's why you burn and peel. :-)
Reply:your not doing a gradual time in and your not using before and after moisturizers.
Reply:SKIN CANCER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why do girls go to tanning studios all year just to look alittle brown? they don't like being their own color?

I mean, i am not one of girls who tan every time my skin is normal. But some girls really over do it..they look yellow. I just want to know WHY they do this?

Why do girls go to tanning studios all year just to look alittle brown? they don't like being their own color?
The best answer that I can give you is that a little color on the face allows a girl not to wear as much make up. Also, a tan makes you look 10 lbs thinner, and shows off muscle definition more. the long term side effects are worse than any benefit that thye might recieve. The best bet for those girls is to find a really good self tanner (sally hansen spray on legs) and use that
Reply:Apparently being yellow is better then white. Personally, I have a farmer's tan - only my knees and the bottom half of my arms are tan, because I play soccer a lot. It's kind of creepy.
Reply:Supposedly it's fashionable.

I think it's over rated and stupid.

Some girls just need to get over themselves.
Reply:Sometimes having a tan helps to cover blemishes, bumps, strech marks and so on. I know what you are talking about some of them look like leather. I had rather be pale than worry with skin cancer.
Reply:because they think it makes them look better but they do it so much that it makes them look worse
Reply:If you are white you want to be brown or black or yellow and if you are brown you want to be black or white or yellow and if you are black you want to be brown or white or yellow. I still can't say why some girls want to be orange!
Reply:because i go to work in the dark and when i get home and take care of everthing, i don't see the sun much. thats why i do it,i go maybe 1 a week for 20 minutes.....20 minutes i get to my self that i am taking care of me....
Reply:I feel sexier when I have a nice tan.

How long does it take to get a tan from a tanning bed?

i am going on vacation next thursday, 11/16/06. i was wondering if i could get a tan between now and then (i havent had one in awhile)?

How long does it take to get a tan from a tanning bed?
You can get one in about a week if you don't burn in the beginning. I suggest starting with 6 min, then 10 a couple times, then 15 a couple times, then 20 min from there on. This is if you tan easily and don't burn to much. If you burn easily then take it a little slower to get to the 20 minutes.
Reply:it depends on your skin and how quickly you tan...
Reply:if you go in a strong enough bed with good lotion it should only take a couple visits.
Reply:you can go every day and stay under the lights for about 15 minutes a day and you should have a great jump on a nice tan
Reply:To get a good base tan you should tan every day for about a week. Then maintain it by tanning about 3 times a week after that. If you're in a medium strength bed, and have skin that doesn't burn too easily, you should start out at about 6 to 8 minutes the first 2 days. If you haven't burned yet, jump up to 10 minutes the next 2 days, then top out at about 15. Don't stay in the bed longer than 20 minutes at a time. And if you do burn, let your skin heal before you start tanning again.

I recommend Hollywood Tans as a facility to tan at. They are knowledgable, and can sell you a good lotion to help excellerate your tan.

Keep in mind that UVA and UVB exposure from the sun AND from tanning beds is linked to skin cancer and there is no safe form of tanning from UVA and UVB exposure. If you're just looking for a quick tan for a special occassion - consider the spray on tans that most tanning salons offer now. They're a bit more pricey but they offer instant results and they won't give you sun damage.
Reply:It depends on your skin tone and the bed you lay in. If you tan easily then 3 visits will have you with color but if you are pale then it could take a week or month.
Reply:Just get a airbrush tan.

Don't go for tanning beds.

I have got friends who got skin cancer thanks to that. Trust me, not worth it. =)
Reply:about the same time it takes to get skin cancer...
Reply:only about 10 minutes

Does any body know how to make homemade tanning lotions like the ones that help you tann faster/stronger?

ok so every one bothers me in school that im too light skined and since i live where every one is really really tan its kinda uncomfterble and its really hard for me to tan with out getting sun burned but ive read about home made creams with carrot juice and cocoa butter and other stuff but i don't know how to make it or what other recipies i could use

Does any body know how to make homemade tanning lotions like the ones that help you tann faster/stronger?
From one extremely pale girl to another pale girl...don't worry about other people...if they are shallow enough to judge you on your lack of tanness, then screw them.

If you're determined to do it, the best way is slowly tan in the sunlight... about an hour each day at the most. Over the course of about a week, you'll have tanned up drastically. I finally decided to get tan this year (avoided tanning for years because of my tattoos), and because I was soooooo pale, I had to do it slow. Use a bronzer/tan accelerator that you can find at Wal-Mart with a low (like 8) SPF rating, this will keep you from burning, but allow you to tan at the same time.
Reply:lemons! one of my friends has really pale skin and she just puts lemon juice on her skin and it works quite well although you should probably put sun tan lotion undderneath just the lemons attrack sun which causes a tan
Reply:try mineral oil.
Reply:Lemon Juice, Hydrogen Peroxide, and Baking Soda.
Reply:FIRST OFF...I will tell you that I was BLACK from tanning and someone told me I would regret it..and I did'nt believe them...til now! MY SKIN IS WRECKED! Stay OUT of the sun! PERIOD! I use a GREAT self tanner from SUN Labs... it's the SAME one they use on Brittney Spears and Bay Watch. It's a really nice brown color. Buy it online. We used to combine PPT and tea to make a nice color (not sure what its called now, but PPT was some protein hairdressers used). Or, for a real temporary tan, you can wipe a wet, used tea bag on your skin!
Reply:just be happy with your self....you have pale skin for a reason....it looks good on you! all of the people that make fun of you ONLY make fun of you because they don't like the way they look themselves. they are self consious of how they look so they cover it up by making fun of you and other people. trust me! so don't ruin your skin by laying in the sun and DEFINITELY don't do some kind of fake tanning,..... if you have orangy skin from fake tanning the people at your schoolwill have a real reason to make fun of you! Embrace yourself....I am sure that your skin is very pretty the way it is!

What are your results after using St. Tropez Tinted Self-Tanning Lotion?

I am looking for a self tanner to achieve a darker tan this summer and I came across this product. I was reading the reviews from the website that was selling it and most reviewers said the product was great and that it gives an even and natural tan. I know its a little pricy but if its worth it I'll definitely spend the money for it. Is it a hassel to use? What are your opinions on it?

It is one of the best on the market...add lotion to your drier areas...elbows knees ..feet...i also add lotion to the product until i get a good even base.

What’s a good sunless tanning product?

I've never used these before and I wanna try one because I'll be moving down south soon and unfortunately my job keeps me from being outside alot during the daylight hours. Plus every time I do go outside for an extended period I always get sunburned terribly. I used to get a nice dark tan when I was younger and I sorta miss it.

What’s a good sunless tanning product?
Johnsons Body Lotion contains a self tan and colours you gently and evenly.
Reply:panama jack WARNING ALL FALSE TANERS YOU USE HAVE A TENDENCY TO TURN OU ORANGE::::::::; if you use two much but panama jack is pretty good
Reply:I will only use coppertone endless summer. Just go for the lighter color. The body lotion with slight tanners take too long, so I would recomment the aforementioned - I don't trust anything else.

When it comes to indoor tanning beds [NOT SPRAY TAN!!!] how long should I wait after my tan b4 I can shower?

I've heard 2 hours , 3 hours , 6 hours. Even 10-12 hours. Gosh does anyone have an actual answer????

When it comes to indoor tanning beds [NOT SPRAY TAN!!!] how long should I wait after my tan b4 I can shower?
Shower right away.

The tan has penetrated to the melanin.

It's a myth otherwise!
Reply:You can shower right away, the changes in your skin are happening below the level of skin that a shower will affect. You can't wash off a real tan. It has to fade and it doesn't matter how much you shower, it will fade from the inside not the outside.
Reply:you don't have to wait any time at all...tanning beds affect your pigments in the same manner as the real sun...
Reply:There is no time to wait for a shower it does not matter! The tan is not going to get any deeper or better waiting it is just killing skin cells! That is all a tan is that is what you smell after you tan the skin cells that died!

Take a shower girl!!
Reply:I used to tan years ago (HUGE MISTAKE!) and took a shower when I got home from the tanning center. It's no different than laying out in the sun. No need to wait there to shower.

Tanning beds are just as dangerous as laying out in the sun. You really should use the spray on places and stay out of the sun and the beds. You will come to regret your "sun worshipping" as I have. The damage is overwhelming and I don't have thousands of dollars to undo the damage I've done.
Reply:You don't need to wait.
Reply:You don't have to wait but I do. Usually about 4 hrs.
Reply:2 hours. Your skin is still tanning when you leave.
Reply:12 hours should be long enough.
Reply:shower and shave right before you go, that way your not tanning dead skin cells that will wash off afterwords.

How can I keep self tanning lotion from leaving little dots all over me??

I think it gets stuck in my pores or something because the "tan" looks good at a distance, but up close I have millions of little bitty brown dots, which looks AWFUL! How can I prevent the lotion from getting into my pores?

How can I keep self tanning lotion from leaving little dots all over me??
Exfoliate before applying -- that might help with application...
Reply:Before applying the self tanning lotion, exfoliate first and after that, make sure you're all dried up.
Reply:ok first exfoliate then take a cool shower but ues cool water the whole time that will snap ur pores shut. now take some moisturiser or lotion and put it in a seprate container. for that i would use some cheap tubberware. [like glad] then look @ thelotion and figure what half would b. now take the amount size that u have figured than put that amount of tanner in to the container. mix and apply as lotion

What is the best self tanning product?

I'm VERY pale....and I would like to have a natural looking tan............what is the best lotion or spray to use?

and I know....wrong category.......but answer please

What is the best self tanning product?
Jergens
Reply:The dove lotion, its the only one that i found actually gave me a change in skin color, lol but make sure you apply it evenly, and after about 4 days, only apply it once a week or so. Or else is will come off with you dead skin and be noticeably blotchy,.
Reply:the sun

and if u want better answers i would highly recommend u ask in the correct category instead of wasting space in this one
Reply:I've always used L'Oreal Sublime Bronze lotion for body and the Sublime Bronze towelettes for my face. They work really well, are tinted so that you can see where it goes, and doesn't make you orange. The most important step is to exfoliate and mosturize the day before doing this, or else it will come out uneven and will flake off.
Reply:hun,

no products.

use the SUN.

lots of the products out there, leave your skin blotchy or orange.

don't do spray tan, it made me turn really orangyy looking.

=//

gross.

ha.

-meghan-
Reply:Honestly NONE...

or at least none of the ones I've tried.

I'm quite pale myself and I've tried a few different ones....

The first time you apply it, you get stains EVERYWHERE....

and your hands look all disgusting...

I guess in order to get a somewhat decent tan you have to keep applying the lotion everyday, make sure it's all even, and wash your hands RIGHT after...

Try Jergen's if you really want to try it. They have it in different shades, begin with the lightest and work your way up

I got tired of doing all that, so I just stayed pale...
Reply:well, my mom was super pale for the longest time, and since my real dad is italian and super tan, after she used this avon stuff that graually makes your skin darker, she became like a few shades lighter than me. it comes in sprays and lotions. and it smells good. i heard jergens is good, but i don't know anyone who uses it [or atleast admits it] whatever you do, don't over do it. this girl game to school ORANGE! once last year. people don't forget stuff like that.

Does anybody know where i could find a tanning bed lotion that inhibits uv rays?

and still give u a tan? need a tan just not from the sunless or spray.

Does anybody know where i could find a tanning bed lotion that inhibits uv rays?
no UV, no tan. pretty simple

patents, on sunblock for a tanning bed - LOLOL, HA, that's funny right there.... OMG, I think I've heard everything now....

How long does it take to get a tan from going tanning?

i just need to know how long it takes. Could you get a tan from just going once, or is that not possible?

How long does it take to get a tan from going tanning?
yea u could get a tan from goin once. it takes bout 20 to 30 mins. it really depends on how big u are or how tall u are or how u want it done= ]♥
Reply:you can get a tan from just going once but you will have to be in there ifor 20 minutes or longer and you will h ave to use a strong tanning lotion. i would not recommend doing this. just go a few minutes a day and gradually go a little longer! =]
Reply:It really depends on your skin, everyone is different. But you can get one from going once. You can also get burnt from going once. But you wont see it straight away, it happens a bit after, that why it's easy to get burnt, because it doesn't happen till like ... an hour or something later. I wouldn't do it for more than 10-15 minutes.
Reply:Yea, in the summer I only went outside like 8 times 30 minutes each and i have a really deep tan line!
Reply:you'll see a difference from just going once. it just depends on how fast you tan though.
Reply:A lot of it depends on your skin.

You probably won't be tan from going once. If you go in a tanning bed for 20-30 minutes, you WILL burn. Most tanning places won't let you go for that long if it's your first time. They will start you off at under 10 minutes.

The fastest way to get a tan, from the beds anyway, is to go two days in a row, take a day off and then go for the next two days. This is the quickest way to build a solid tan. It's important to use tanning lotion too.

That said, if you need a tan ASAP, then consider mystic tanning. It's a spray on tan that lasts a few days. The only drawbacks are that you smell kinda funny at first and it streaks in water, so it's not a good idea if you're tanning to look fabulous in a bikini.

What is the best sunless tanning lotion that does NOT turn you orange?

I have red hair and I am pretty fair!! I want to be tan but not orange!! HELP!

What is the best sunless tanning lotion that does NOT turn you orange?
I have been using Dove energy glow subtle self tanners for about 2 weeks now and ive been getting a lot tanner, but not at all orange. It does say to wash your hands after, so maybe your palms could get orange, i have always washed mine after so i dont know for sure. I have also tried Jergens tanning lotion and i didnt see any improvement in my skin color. If you want a spray tan Neutrogena makes a good one that i have used and it doesnt make you orange either, you just have to make sure to rub it in good!

Hope i could help!
Reply:You should go to Sephora they have lots of new self tanning products. www.sephora.com.
Reply:Im so fair to and I use jergens tanning lotion, it works good but make sure that you rub it in real good on the boney parts of you (knees, ankles) if you have oily skin on the face use the jergens moisturizer for the face but if its dry just use the normal kind. hope that helped.

Could someone please tell me the best indoor tanning lotion?

I have already developed my base tan and would like something to make me darker that doesn't have a bronzer in it.I hate to get a shower and watch my tan cover the bottom of the tub. Does any one know of any good products?

Could someone please tell me the best indoor tanning lotion?
Hi there.

I started out using a product called sex kitten by sweedish beauty. It does not have any bronzer in it. Another nice one is Pure Romance: it gives you blushed glow , followed by long-lasting deep-dark color, it has Color Booster (but not bronzer) which gives you 24-hour continuous moisture-power for rich, dark tanning, and something called Tan fresh which helps eliminate after-tan odor.

I would, however, recommend that you do get a lotion with a small amount of bronzer. it shouldn't wash out in the shower as it doesn't activate for at least 5 hours after tanning.

When you use a bronzer make sure that you DON'T wipe it on in an up and down, you need to put it on in a circular motion, and wipe between your fingers. Contrary to popular belief, a bronzer will not turn you orange, professional lotion does not have enough DHA (the thing tat gives the sun kissed look/colour) in it.

Drugstore lotions however have tonnes and tonnes of DHA and they are not recommended for indooor tanning.

Remember when tanning to keep your skin exfoliated, and moisturized, this will help you keep your tan longer, help you tan faster and get darker sooner. Don't over do your tanning, one tanning session in a 48 hour period is sufficient.

If you have any more questions please feel free to e-mail me.

Sidebar: According to the American Academy of Dermatology,... DHA is a colorless chemical (it is derived from glycerin) that interacts with the amino acids in dead skin cells to produce a brown color change. Since these dead skin cells are constantly being shed, the color change produced by DHA usually lasts about five to seven days.

DHA is not absorbed through the skin into the body and it has no known toxicity. DHA was first discovered by the Germans in the late 1920's when DHA spilled on the skin produced a brown color. DHA has been listed with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) since 1973, and has been used in cosmetic preparations for almost 30 years

God, I love Cali

Which is the number one self tanner hands down? Looking for a tanner that does not make you orange and streaky. Also, I do want the kind that stays for a few days. I don't want to have to apply it everyday.

Can you loose weight by tanning everyday and sweating while doing it.....bc i think i have!?

I tan everyday and i tend to sweat sometimes......i eat like a hog.....and i think im loosing weight...i dont work out....i just go to school and work....i guess i have a high metabalism!

Can you loose weight by tanning everyday and sweating while doing it.....bc i think i have!?
Tanning everyday is NOT going to lead to losing weight. Maybe eventually when you're undergoing chemo for skin cancer it'll cause weight loss then, but not now.
Reply:Tanning doesn't make you lose weight. However, it's natural for our bodies to want less food when it is hot. Even though you may still be stuffing your face, you may be eating less than your body is used to b/c of the heat your body to which your body is being exposed, which would result in you losing weight. Make sure that you are drinking plenty of water, b/c if you are not then the weight loss could all be your body dehydrating. Otherwise, who cares, enjoy it.....this is just my theory. Oh, and most young people have a high metabolism--wait until you hit 30 and all that goes south haha. A tanning bed won't help you then! (I'm 24--I'm still waiting for it.)
Reply:tanning doesnt make you loose weight but i did hear that you can catch cancer from it you betta look into

Can I use windex on tanning beds. I'm afraid they don't clean them as well as I'd like them to.?

Last time I tanned, the person before me used some type of reddening lotion and I ended up really red. Didn't go away for a few days. I usually can stay in for about 19 minutes and had to jump out at about 15 minutes.

Can I use windex on tanning beds. I'm afraid they don't clean them as well as I'd like them to.?
Windex might not be good for the acrylic plastic of the bed. My tanning studio uses some sort of disinfectant spray cleaner. I'd suggest that you carefully inspect the bed before use and, if it isn't clean, ask them to clean it before you get on it. They shouldn't object to that!

What you're calling "reddening lotion" is probably some sort of intensifier that's meant to deepen your tan. If you're fair skinned, it might be too much for you at this stage in your tanning process and could cause you to burn slightly where you come in contact with it.

But, beyond that, it probably also means the previous client's sweat was also on the bed surface. That could be off-putting, I'd think.

So, ask management to clean the bed for you.
Reply:Windex is horrible for tanning beds! Ask the salon employee if you can use their disinfectant to wipe down the bed before you get in, but don't use windex, tanning beds aren't glass, they are acrylic and windex or any other cleaner will break down the acrylic and cause cracks. And they are very expensive to replace.

How do I schedule a tanning appointment?

I've never tanned at a salon before. I tried to make an appointment before on the phone and the guy was intimidating, asking me lots of weird questions and such. Should I call or should I go directly to the salon to purchase the package?

I'm confused!

How do I schedule a tanning appointment?
Go to the salon...its easier
Reply:directly 2 the salon.. belive me, i get it done all the time =]
Reply:I would go and check out soem salons just to see whiich one looks the most inviting and just talk to them about it.
Reply:go right in to the salon, and make an appointment. also, when you go in there youll have a better idea of what the salon is like, and what kind of packages there are. he may not tell you all of them over the phone. ALSO, the reason why he was asking you all of those questions is becaus eyou have to fill out a form about your skin care/medical history, to make sure that its alright for you TO tan. good luck!
Reply:Either or, we have ppl walk-in that have never tanned before all the time, it's no biggie. It's actually easier for us to answer any questions you might have when you're standing in front of us rather than on the phone, because we can see your complexion type etc. etc.
Reply:;O u gotta be kiddn me call in uh derrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...
Reply:you call a salon and ask them 2 reserve a time 4 u
Reply:Hi Jasmine, Just go to the saloon honey, it's easier!
Reply:Chances are you won't have to pre-book the appointment... most places usually have an open tanning bed that you can take right away if you walk in. Don't worry about pre-booking, its unlikely that you'll wait more than 5 minutes for an open tanning bed :)

When you go, make sure you ask him how long you should be in for, and tell him its your first time tanning; he'll recommend a good amount of time to spend tanning for your first time.

Also, you can either buy a package deal or just pay for one tan at a time... depends on how often you're planning to tan.

It's no biggie hon, just go and they'll help you, that's what they're there for! :)
Reply:You don't have to reserve an appointment for tanning. Most places are walk-in.

After you build a base tan in a tanning bed, how often do you need to go tanning?

is like once a week ok after that?

After you build a base tan in a tanning bed, how often do you need to go tanning?
Twice weekly will keep your base going.Do use accelerators when tanning and apply skin moisturizer daily.
Reply:tanning is icky. it gives you cancer
Reply:that fake tanning will kill your white blood cells slowly and increase your chances of cancer. big mistake if you ask me. want a tan? go to the beach
Reply:depends on your skin type, I don't burn and have olive color skin so I go three times a week after that to keep a nice deep color.
Reply:Once a week should keep it.
Reply:Depending on how dark you want to remain will be the gage. If you just want to remain a neutral color then once a week will do. If you want to keep the color consistent twice a week. If you want to get darker then three times a week.

I definitely suggest twice a week for maintenance.
Reply:I have to say of course they are not good for you, but 1-2x a week depending on the bed itself.
Reply:no once a week isnt enough, you have to go at least 2-3 days a week as opposed to the 5-6, you just cut it in half
Reply:I have found that my tans through a tanning salon fade fast, I don't know if it is because it doesnt penetrate and go as deep as a natural tan or what. You should probably go a minimum of 2 times a week to keep the tan. I would go about 3 times/week once I reached my desired tan.
Reply:o! don't start tanning. it's horrible for youl. you're chances of getting cancer are alarmingly increased every time you go, and also tanning wears out the skin, causes wrinkles, and can be just as addictive as smoking can. it also makes you look obviously fake. it's better to be real.
Reply:be careful about tanning. its proven that you are 40% more suseptable to skin cancer if you go often. try just spray tanning- no harm there
Reply:I warn you, the older you is going to curse the younger you. The older you is going to have leathery, wrinkled skin. The skin will be spotted and veiny. The older you is still going to care how she looks. I know you dont' think so now, but the older you is still going to be interested in sex and how men view her.

You are excited about getting a tan now... but you will REALLY regret it later. Skin cancer is NOT a nice way to go....
Reply:Never! Because Tanning beds will give you skin cancer!

They multiply the UV rays several times to that of the sun in comparrison. Get educated and stay alive!

UV Tanning Beds should be out-lawed because their results can cause people to die! This is a well proven fact.
Reply:Tanning is possibly the worst thing for your skin outside of holding your body over a roaring fire. Skin cancer is one of the most common kinds of cancer and unfortunetaly is the one found most common in young people, whether they tan or not. Your best bet to looking great and staying safe is to use a moisturizing spf that contains UVA and UVB protection, and has a tint everyday. (see link below). To maintain your tan I would also recommend using tinted moisturizers on a daily basis to build on your pre-existing tan. Dove, aveeno, and about 50 others all make such products.

Please also check out the skin cancer website as I cannot stress enough how dangerous tanning is.
Reply:Tanning is bad for you not only do you run the risk of getting skin cancer; it also ages your skin. You will have more wrinkles then you want at a younger age then you would if you did not tan. I know it's tempting because your skin looks attractive when it's tanned. Try using a good self tanning lotion. They have come a long way since the stinky orange colored ones of the past. St. Tropez is a good line. Good Luck.
Reply:Once you get the color you are happy with Go once a week to keep It up

What is the best self tanning lotion?

I would really like to build a gradual tan without going to a salon. What is the best product i could use without it making me look orange?

What is the best self tanning lotion?
from experience i can tell you that as far as self tanning goes lotions aren't your best bet. tanning towels work much better far less mess and much more even application.

try sublime loreal tanning towels.

or tantowels.

as far as lotions go if you insist on one st. tropez is good a bit hard to blend but a great deep tan that lasts just be carful of your hands.

whatever you get make sure it has green tones in it this cancels out any chance of you turning orange which makes your tan look more bronze and extremely real.

never forget to wear gloves.
Reply:i use neutrogena
Reply:Go to sephora and buy their spray called Sun. Its amazing--its a tan colored bottle
Reply:If you don't want to spend that much, but yet, would like to get an exelent tan, use Dove. Its very inexpensive, around $3.50 a bottle. It works great!
Reply:get Jergens in a brown bottle. it is a lotion to apply every day, you see a difference in 1 week!! :D

What is a good self-tanning lotion/spray?

One that won't wash off in water or the shower.

Preferablly one that will just wear off like a natural tan?

AND ONE THAT DOESNT MAKE YOU ORANGE!!!

What is a good self-tanning lotion/spray?
Go to a place like mystic tan they only charge like $20 for one tan.
Reply:Jergen's lotion works great- just use it once a day and you'll see the results within a week or so.
Reply:I use the clinique body quick bronze...it works charms! Plus...It looks natural as can be!

hope this helped!
Reply:Clinique gives an even tan that looks natural.

What's the best sunless tanning product?

I'm an asian-pacific mix so I've got those yellow undertones. I tan easily to a dark golden brown... but need to change my sun-worshipping ways before I become a piece of rough leather.

What do you recommend? Preferably something that doesn't turn you orange! :)

What's the best sunless tanning product?
i tan easy too getting that glowy look almost instantly- the one that best mimics that is jergen's moisturizer and firming sunless natural tanner goes great on my complexion ( i am latina) and does a lot than just the faux glowy tan!
Reply:Banana Boat.
Reply:Jergen's work great for the $.
Reply:I like to use Jurgean's Natural Glow daily moisturizer. It gradually turns your skin darker the more you use it. And it isn't like those other sunless tanning products where it turns your skin dark drastically...It gives it a gradual hint at a darker tone. It also helps keep your skin healthy and moisturized. Good luck
Reply:Neutrogena Gradual Tanner. If you put it on when you get out of the shower or like twice a day, you will notice you are almost twice as dark in about a week of application. I love it. It is especially good for face. I have very very very sensitive skin and this is the first sunless tanner that has not broken out my face. It made my face glow with a sunkissed tan. I highly recommend it.
Reply:Nivea sunkissed firming moisturizer is great. It looks really natural and makes skin smooth.

Why are some white girls so obsess with tanning at a salon?

I am not trying to be mean but geez some girls need not to tan white people look scary when they OVER tan ... like carrot skin

I am mexican let's embrace our skin color people!

Why are some white girls so obsess with tanning at a salon?
Somewhat you could say a trend has been changing in the liking of the male in this period of time. For some reason it has come to be that some men have started to like darker skinned women. As for it being unappealing, that is a cause of miss calculation and stupidity of the person who is being tanned. What I find even more unattractive is tan- lines.
Reply:i agree, some folks just start to look "gross" it has to do with how people see themselves, self confidence.
Reply:Word, from a "WHITE" girl!!!
Reply:idk they look horrible. i stick to being pale the old natural way.
Reply:Don't know. I've always preferred a lighter skin tone.
Reply:Some girls are fake and like to look it. me im white and i love my skin color.
Reply:dont know but it is bad for thier skin
Reply:isn't it funny how they hate Mexicans but want to look like them. VIVA LA RAZA!
Reply:Because they don't like who they are. I've seen a TON of girls who over tan, and even some guys :S. I don' understand it, I'd rather stick with my white un-tanned skin then have it all leathery and full of cancer when I get older. I when that happens to you "beautiful" girls tanning constantly, I will simply point and laugh and say, "I told ya so, that's what you get."
Reply:Amen sistah.

Alot of white girls wish they were latina and feel pressured by their bf's and the media to feel like they're skin isn't nice.

Sunless tanner is okay in small amounts when used appropriately, but baking yourself is so bad for your skin, and makes your skin look aged because it damages it so bad.

Dermatologists would kill people who do that!

It's actually healthier to just lay out in the sun every once in a while and develop a good tan than to go weekly to the tanning bed.

People don't have restrictions on how many times they go to the beach. If tanning gets restricted don't you think there could be something bad about overdoing it? I wish those people would think for like... four seconds.
Reply:y some go to a tanning place idk... i just lay outside sometimes..yes it is groose when ppl over tan just a nice light tan is plenty good
Reply:After they are 30 years and old, they can look like beef jerky
Reply:You people never heard of spray tanning???? I am proud of my pale skin but ill be honest and say if im gonna go abroad and shove my big old **** into a bikini i would much rather look like a bronzed beach babe than a Pasteurised bottle of milk!! Spray tanning dont make u look a carrot colour neither.
Reply:the answer is very simple!

darker skin makes you look skiny (optical perception)

How do I fix self tanning mistakes?

I used a self tanner yesterday and I have bad streaks on my legs, is there anything I can do to fix it?

How do I fix self tanning mistakes?
you can buy remover from a lot of chemists , for small areas like hands or between the fingers nail varnish remover is good for getting most of it off, it doesnt take it all away but tones it down alot, failing that, soak in the bath and exfoliate like a mad woman! the best way not to get streaks is when you get out of the bath or shower apply moisturiser or body lotion to your legs rub in and then apply the tan, works for me!
Reply:buy a body scrub and scrub your legs when you take a shower.... this will help a little but most likely it will take a few days to totally dissappear
Reply:reapply it again
Reply:try an exfoliating cleanser... it should help
Reply:i have no idea, LOL
Reply:get a loufa and some lemon juice
Reply:Try a power sander.
Reply:exfoliate the area, that will blend it and make it less noticable.
Reply:Go take a shower or bath and exfoliate well. Or try using baby oil. I know that works when trying to get make up off that isn't supposed to come off.

I use the Dove Energy Glow lotion and I have had no problem and it looks natural. No streaks or fake orange color. I would suggest trying that brand after you get the other off.
Reply:lemon juice sometimes works depending on what type of tanner it is!
Reply:Rub lemon juice over the streaky bits and then go in the shower and give your legs a good scrub with a exfoliater to get rid of the dead skin and the streaky tan! :)
Reply:Have a look here.
Reply:i dont know
Reply:Just spary over it. I bet that will get rid of the mistakes!! =~)
Reply:do it again
Reply:LOL yeah try another... just kidding.... well not really.... you can try the Neutrogena Micro Mist Tanning sunless tanning spray.... the 3 shades darker. Just spray heavier on the non streaked areas and very little or none on the bad streaks. I have used it and it takes hours for it to do the max at what it is going to do. But it does not streak and should help fix your problem. You have to remember to use more where you did not streak. What you have to do is even it out. Then get it where you want it to be.
Reply:well wat i always do is use an instant tan over it to correct my mistakes like rimmel tan make up another thing is if its really bad just wear glossy tights

cheerz xox
Reply:Sometimes hydrogen peroxide will remove a lot of the streaking, then scrub in shower, then reapply with another one.
Reply:Exfoliate, then use lemon juice or toothpaste
Reply:Basically, you've got three options...tan the lighter "streaks" darker, lighten the darker streaks, or remove the whole thing. Tanning the lighter areas is probably gonna be a pain in the ****. Lightening the darker areas or removing it all completely involves finding out what the "base" is to the tanning solution (alcohol, oil, etc,) and applying that to the darker areas and/or all over. It's basically the same principle as removing a stain from your clothing, by adding an excessive amount of "base" to the stain, you thin it out to nothing. You should be able to get the base from the ingredients list on the container.

Does Wind Slow Rate of Tanning?

If I stick my arm out of my car window on the freeway on a Hot and Sunny day, does it slow down the rate im going to get tan? A lot?

Does Wind Slow Rate of Tanning?
No it doesn't. Tanning (and sunburn) is caused by ultraviolet light, not increased temperature.

People can get tans on skiing holidays; in fact, snow reflects lots of UV light, so you are at a quite high risk of burning if you ski in sunny conditions.

UV light damages DNA, so your body reacts to increased UV light by increasing the amount of pigmented cells ("melanocytes") in your skin, and this gives you your tan. The increased amount of pigment absorbs the UV before it can damage your DNA.
Reply:No, light is too fast to be affected by wind.
Reply:wind does not stop tanning at all
Reply:it wont do a thing but that wont stop the ultra violet light all you get is wind burnt
Reply:No. Based on experience, one can get tan on a hot, sunny and windy day.

Would This Be a Safe Tanning Routine?

This is for the fall and winter only. I was thinking of going 1 time a week for 20 minutes, then once I get my tan I go about 1 time every 2-4 weeks for 20 minutes. Would this be considered okay?

Would This Be a Safe Tanning Routine?
there are NO safe tanning techniques
Reply:If you look anything like your avatar, why not go 2-3 times a week?
Reply:I feel is okie, just remember to apply SPF protection. And post tanning care.
Reply:depends on how fast you want skin cancer and leathery skin.
Reply:There are still risks of you getting cancer event if you only tan for a few minuets each week the only deference is its not as high I say go for it I would do the same.
Reply:that sounds good, but you know that it still isn't good for your skin, you can still get cancer from the tanning beds using them all the time.
Reply:There is no 'safe' way to tan.

All tanned skin is damaged skin.

But,

If you are going to go the damaged skin route then taking it slow like you are proposing is probably the best routine to follow. No one, however, starts out at 20 minutes. You have to build up to that.

If you don't want any skin damage, spray-ons or self-tanners are the only options. (I so have the feeling that this is not what you have in mind.)

Happy toasting!

And protect your eyes.
Reply:Yes, I think that would be perfect!!! That's what I was planning to do because 1. I dont want to harm my skin and 2. I dont want to end up like some girls I know (where they are naturally white white and then end up looking like a orange mexican)

I just got a mystic tan. not in love with it at all. can i tan in a tanning booth to get darker?

Eventually you'll get darker, but keep in mind two things:

1) Actual tanning (vs. the spray on tanning) will take numerous visits to actually see results, so while you will get darker eventually, it won't be instant gratification ala Mystic Tan.

2) The Mystic Tan will wear off in a week or so, leaving you with what tone you went in with.

So, simply put, the beds won't make you darker right away, Mystic Tan or none. In the meantime, I've heard that nail polish remover can get rid of self-tanner, so you might want to give that a try.

Hope this helped a bit...

I just got a mystic tan. not in love with it at all. can i tan in a tanning booth to get darker?
whats a mystic tan
Reply:Mystic Tan + tanning in booth... No... The Mystic Tan will fade in like 3 days and then your going to be back to with the same skin color started with before... I only do Mystic Tan when there is a special event coming up... otherwise there is really no point in it.. well unless you dont want skin cancer and wrinkles and stuff.. But I love the booth to much to give it up yet..
Reply:i say no because i strongly disagree with tanning in tanning booths but idk know you would have to choose but my say is not don't for your safty
Reply:people think tanning is healthy for you but its not healthy it is mistaking that having a tan is healthy but it is not,

the risk of having a tan is skin cancer and that is not good so don't do it cause its bad for you. what is healthy is just taking a small walk in the sun but not long usual 10 Minuit's or so or go out on a sunny day like not long but long enough that you get enough vitamin e from the sun.

I would start off with the lighter spray and if it isn't dark enough go to the darker one.. also the Jergen's lotion that gradually turns your skin dark over time is really good stuff!
Reply:Embrace your whiteness. it makes you unique!!!
Reply:yes if it pleases you but dont make yourself red or ornage cause they will call you indian or asian

Reply:Ha ha, very funny thanks for the two points you fool.
Reply:My mom is lighter than me and all the mexican mothers at my school doesnt like her cause of it. I don't think you should use a spray. Just sit out on the beach or pool and chill.

Reply:no be yourself if you shouldn't have to change yourself to feel more comfortable with your family

exfoliate cleanser, color lotion, and maintain lotion

it makes you brown and not orange I have been using for 2 months and everyone thinks I have a tan

Reply:No!You are who you are and that's that. You probably just got a pigment thing going on.If you do tanning spray, you'll have to do it real often.Go to a tanning booth and burn yourself and when it's gone in about a week, You'll be tanned for like, a year!I know, i've done it

How long do you keep Tanning after laying in the Sun?

I also heard that you should'nt shower for a few hours afterwords so the tan can keep developing. Is that a true rumor?

i dunno but i use jergens natural glow i luv it

Reply:I've been around for awhile and NEVER heard that - I think its a rumor.

However, directions for self-tanning products usually do instruct one to not shower for a few hours.

What are your thoughts on tanning and drinking alcohol if you were pregnant but didn't know it yet?

Just curious. I was just thinking that this would be awful. I guess if you are trying to conceive you should lay off these things, but what if you weren't trying but tanned and drank and then found out your were pregnant while you did!? Has this happened to anyone??

What are your thoughts on tanning and drinking alcohol if you were pregnant but didn't know it yet?
Me, me, me! I was 40 years old and having a WONDERFUL vacation in Ireland with my husband. We drank good Irish whiskey til we were BOMBED every night in Ireland AND for the month after we returned. When I found out I had gotten pregnant in Ireland I was TERRIFIED that the fetus would be born with bowed legs and two heads and retarded from fetal alcohol syndrome. I quit the drinking IMMEDIATELY of course and worried for the rest of the pregnancy. Well, that was 14 years ago and I have a beautiful, tall, straight, intelligent, handsome teenage son now. Lay off the drinking NOW. The tanning will kill YOUR skin and make a dried up old lady of you, but it won't hurt the baby. Good luck and God bless you all.
Reply:Don't do any of that until you go and get a test. Better safe than sorry!
Reply:Women who want to have a baby start preparing long before getting pregnant. Exercise, eat right, lay off the booze, cigarettes. Get your body ready to create a healthy baby. Responsible people plan for children, not FIND OUT they are pregnant.
Reply:It happens alot more than most people realize. Alot of people don't plan to be pregnant and some don't even realize that they are until they have drank, smoked, and tanned. Usually as long as it was not in excess it will not hurt.
Reply:A few friends of mine are smokers and drinkers and they found out they were preggers, their babies arn't to different then any other ones, but were small at birth. So if you think you are pregnant, lay off the alcohal.
Reply:for sure you should stay off the alcohol if you're pregnant. i've never heard anything about the tanning -- are you supposed to stay away from that too??? i just saw someone today at the beach that was tanning and she must have been at least 4-5 months pregnant! what are your thoughts?
Reply:I'm not sure about drinking. But I smoked before I found out I was pregnant, and didn't totally quit. Just cut way down. (keep comments to yourself). My child came out normal, and was a very healthy weight.
Reply:I guess it would be easy to make that mistake if you were trying to get pregnant for a long time.

I don't drink smoke or tan.

but I wasn't aware I was pregnant

and I had been drinking a lot of energy drinks...

I feel like I have done some thing terrible and I pray my baby will be alright.

note to people who said they had normal babies and friends with normal babies after drinking and smoking

those babies may seem alright now but when they are older it will show up as ADD or learing disabilities, there are direct studies that those thing DO DAMAGE to your baby just because you can see it on the outside doesn't mean there isn't a problem.

be responsible and put your baby before yourself!

What is the best self tanning lotion??

I need to try a lotion that I can put on and not have to go into the sun. I know with some, they work better if you put them on then expose yourself to a little sun. I havent tanned in 2 years, just had a baby, and I am SNOW WHITE slight olive complexion (part Sioux)!!! I dont want to be orange. . . .just a soft sun kissed glow???

What is the best self tanning lotion??
I have to use tanning lotion to get some color because at 21 %26amp; being so fair skinned, tanning out in the sun (even with protection) has caused me to have 4 spots on my skin that were precancerous. Not fun to have to go through procedures to have them removed! (Luckily, I'm ok).

I love Bath %26amp; Body works 24/7 Radiant Moisture Gradual Tanning Lotion. It's a 24 hour moisturising lotion that gives you glow within a couple of days. It won't turn you orange like most drug store brands do. I've had bad luck with Aveeno %26amp; Jergens, for example. Being so pale, those made me look like a tangerine! But as always, exfoliate before applying to ensure that your glow comes out as even as possible.

Another good thing is that this one doesn't have that nasty fake tanner smell. It comes in a variety of yummy scents. My favorite is Breathe Happiness (citrus watermint). It also comes in Romance (amber myrrh), Delight (tamarind nectar), Energy (ginger verbena), and Comfort (vanilla milk). They cost $14.50 each.

Reply:Unfortunately almost all of the self tanning will turn you orange. I would suggest going to a tanning bed. Just a couple of times will at least give you some color. Good Luck

Is it bad for my pregnant self to tan in a tanning bed???

I am going to tan today but i WANT TO KNOW IF IT IS SAFE FIRST

Is it bad for my pregnant self to tan in a tanning bed???
There are no studies that provide conclusive evidence that tanning beds directly harm your baby. However, the following are some ways that tanning beds can be harmful to you. Most health care providers advise against any activity that might raise your body temperature, such as saunas or tanning beds. Overheating is associated with spinal malformations in the baby.

Some studies also link UV rays and folic acid deficiency. Folic acid prevents neural tube defects, such as spina bifida, and is especially important in the first trimester. During pregnancy, your skin is more susceptible to burning and chloasma, the dark splotches that appear on the face during pregnancy. Speak to your health care provider about the safety of tanning beds during pregnancy.
Reply:It is absolutely not safe. Please don't do it.
Reply:I would DEFINITELY read this article before you make your decision. Good luck to you and your baby.

I am about to go tanning, and i want to naturally highlight my hair..?

Hey, i'm about to go outside on my deck and tan. In the summer, my hair usually gets lighter over time, but i wanna speed up the process by using some 'home recipies' that will gradually help lighten, but not as much harm my hair. My hair is light brown with natural blonde highlights that come out in the summer. I've heard of lemon juice, but my mom says that and peroxide are too harmful to my hair. Any other ideas? Thanks, xoxo

this is going 2 sound wierd but mayonaise conditions your hair really wel lfrom what i've heard from my best friends mom.%26amp; yes the vodka works good 2.
Reply:combing your hair through with vodka will give you gorgeous high lights, but I'm not sure your mother would agree to that.
Reply:doesnt over exposure to the sun give you wrinkles? tan people look not good in my opinion. and lemon juice is a natural bleach i think
Reply:i have a spray called natural highlight sun in spray http://img.shopping.com/cctool/PrdImg/im... go on that link =] it works too
Reply:tanning is great :) I am a addict... last year i tried dish soap, lemon juice, hydro peroxide.. all worked.. damaging if you go crazy like i did..

Whats the fastest way to get the darkest tan from a tanning bed?

i want to get dark fast without all of the expensive hyped-up lotions. any ideas on how to achieve the darkest tan quickly?

Whats the fastest way to get the darkest tan from a tanning bed?
Do yourself and your skin a favor -skip the tanning bed. Unless, of course, you like the idea of increasing your chances of skin cancer by 30 - 50%!!! If you want a quick dark tan, find a tanning shop that does spray on tans. It's very quick, it's relatively cheap and it doesn't kill you. If you watched Dancing With the Stars, then you saw the effects of spray on tans. Those ladies and gents don't do tanning booths.
Reply:You're very welcome! Good luck. Report It

Reply:just skip the beds!! go for DOVE tanning lotion, and when u go outside, the sun tan builds on top of the lotion, u get such a beautiful color :) Report It

Reply:Tanning bed? Try a spray on tan. It is so much better. Just remember, count to 5 seconds, not 5.
Reply:Honestly, going to the beach.A tanning bed gives you a horrible orange color
Reply:I think you mean whats the fastest way to get skin cancer.
Reply:The mystic tanning is always a good alternative if you follow the directions to the T but if you incest on tanning in a tanning bed the stand up bed for 20 minutes gives you an even natural looking tan or the ultimate bed for 20min. but be sure to flip

I'm really light skinned, and i dont tan even in the summer. If i go to a tanning salon, will it work?

will i get tan ?

I'm really light skinned, and i dont tan even in the summer. If i go to a tanning salon, will it work?
get a spray on tan and wear plenty of sunblock. your skin is prone to damage, so don't think twice about going to one of those tanning salons. unless skin cancer or looking like an old leather bag sounds appealing in 10 years?
Reply:Probably, but can you spell "skin cancer' ??????????????????
Reply:No, probably not. If you don't tan normally in the sun it won't work in a tanning salon either. Most likely you'll burn. Why risk skin cancer, it's really not worth it! Theres some great fake tanning products around these days- go for them x
Reply:not always.

i used to work with a woman whose mother and father were both dark(er) skinned ; she and she COULD NOT tan. she tried everything including tanning lotions. they didn't even work.

have a great day
Reply:I am very fair-skinned also and I just burn in the tanning salon. I think it is something that you will need to slowly build up over time, meanwhile risking your health. I would suggest a good spray tan or investigate sunless tanning lotions, which have improved over the years. Just follow the directions very carefully!

Best of luck! :)
Reply:No, if you don't tan in the sun, you won't tan in a tanning bed. And your chances for cancer increase greatly.
Reply:Probably not. Spray tan - it's much safer.
Reply:No you probably won't on your first time. I have the same problem. All my life I've been VERY pale and if I'm even in the sun for more then 15 minutes, I burn to a crisp. So. I tried the bed, And I burned in the tanning bed, I was in for 8 minutes and I'd burned as if I was out side for 30. And I didn't tan. But I think that maybe if you keep going it will work. Just remember to turn.... I didn't turn and.... hahahaha .... I had red lines up and down my ****.

Good Luck.

Beds are dangerous. I wouldn't recommend it. I don't go anymore.
Reply:Yes you can get tan I have very fair skin and I just used lotion with Bonzer in it and now im a bit tan it takes time though.... but dont get the ones with the tingle sensation they burn like heck on fair skin..
Reply:i also am very light skinned, and when u go in the tanning beds dont go for more then 6 mins your first 3 visits, cause u will burn. The best thing I found to work and is healthy for you is the spray tan. Good luck
Reply:No. you'll turn red like a tomato. you'll also damage you skin and when your older, your skin will be rinkled, youll have those ugly spots, and honstly, be happy with what you have, it won't kill you to be light skinned. for goodness sakes people would kill for lighter skin!
Reply:just use a sunless self tanner.. gel.. lotion.. or arisol can.. there are alot out there find the ones with streek free and one that dosent give you the Orange look.. you will get a perfect tan for half the price of a tanning salon.. and half the burn of it too..lol.. have fun.. Good luck!!
Reply:i used to run a tanning salonand so i can say that you don't have to worry about skin cancer in the tanning beds. the bulbs used in tanning beds emmit only UV-A and UV-B light. it's UV-C that you have to worry about causing cancer.

but as far as not tanning in natural sun light, you probably won't tan in a bed either. but some people who have the problem of burning very easily may be able to slowly increase the time they are in the tanning bed (starting at no longer than 2 min for the first week or two), but it's best to talk to the tanning salon, must states require anyone who works at a salon to take a course and test.
Reply:If you can pull of the light skin, then more power to you. I personally like light skinned gals. Not albino light though.
Reply:Well...it will work depending on how your skin reacts. But just to tell you, the tanning bed is know for causing skin cancer. You probraly already knew that though. I always tan while im at a pool or on the beach. I think laying down to tan is boring, so I play games while getting a bronzed tan! So much better i think!
