Ummmm.......where can u buy tanning oil?......and can olive oil work as good as tanning oil, to make u tanner?

No oil will change the rate at which the sun tans your skin unless it has some property which blocks the sun. What oil does is help keep moisture in the skin, and make you look shiny and pretty while you are tanning. Olive oil, corn oil, expensive body oil, all will do the same thing.

What tanning oils do is either add a bit of external color to the skin (self-tanning oils), or block some of the most harmful rays to help protect against burning (sun screens or blocks).

You could get a perfectly lovely tan with no oil whatsoever by simply tanning for short periods each day, carefully avoiding burning.

If you enjoy being outdoors in the sun, use a sunscreen to avoid burning, increasing or decreasing the strength to meet your tanning needs, again, carefully avoiding burning.

If you do burn, no oil, lotion or cream can fix the skin that has already been damaged. If creams and oils could fix damaged skin, we wouldn't need burn centers. If you peel, it is because that layer of skin is dead, and we haven't yet found anything that can bring dead things back to life. Use whatever makes your skin ~feel~ better.

So no, oil will not make you tanner. Only the sun will make you tanner. Save your money.

Olive oil?? Do you WANT skin cancer??? Buy a tanning oil anywhere... you can buy it at a drug store such as walgreens. Make sure you get one with an SPF, it's very important.
Reply:Baby oil with a drop of iodine works well for tanning. However, withouth sun block protection to some degree, you're putting yourself at high risk even for darker skin types that don't burn.
Reply:usually you'd want to use baby oil, i have found that to work the best..... you can probably buy tanning oil at walmart or maybe even a pharmacy place... like CVS
Reply:=== not good enough. use coco butter.
Reply:Try motor oil. Preferably used motor oil.

Trust me, you will get darker.
Reply:You can buy tanning oil at your local drugstore, but save your money and use your olive oil. I don't know any reason why it wouldn't work to make you tanner.
Reply:any oil should work but may not be good for you. tanning oil is available almost anywhere, even convenience stores.
Reply:Olive oil will give you a beautiful tan, but keep in mind it doesn't have any sunscreen in it, and cause you to burn very badly, especially if you don't already have a tan. It would be better to use a lotion or tanning oil with sunscreen in it, to protect your skin.
Reply:if you are in a real hurry, light brown shoe polish will work
Reply:Take Tuesday SS's advice. She knows what she's talking about.
