What is the best way to prevent tanning?

I use SPF 55 sunblock but in the summer my skin still gets really tanned. Is there anything else I can do to prevent it? I live in a hot climate but I'm only outdoors for 10-15 minutes a day.

What is the best way to prevent tanning?
My skin is that way too and I hate to tell you this but you have to stay out of the sun as much as possible. Especially when the sun is strongest between 10-2.

Get a good sunblock that blocks UVB and VUA(Elta Block is one) and also look into sun protective clothing and hats. Most of the suns rays can penetrate normal clothes so they are useless.
Reply:more sunblock or just stay indoors =)
Reply:Why would u not want to get tanned/

Tannign is a good thing unless you are allergic to the sun or something...

The only way i can think of not gettign tanned is to wear jakets but its too hot

Use alot of sunblock

and dont go in the sun for alot of time in one day.

Just be carful
Reply:Stay away from direct sunlight as much as possible. Sunblock does not prevent getting your skin darker, it just lowers your percentage of getting skin cancer.
Reply:If you're on any medication, check with your doctor.

Whats the best oil to use when tanning in the sun?

I travel abroad all the time i go dark in the sun but only after about a week what would be the best product for me to use to get a really dark tan quickly.

Whats the best oil to use when tanning in the sun?
i use hawaii sun oil i use a 0-2 factor after 3 days as im olive skin and dont burn,i go really brown with this but that might be because im dark anyway,if you want to get a good tan use a sun bed for 4 weeks before you go your skin will tan nicely.xx
Reply:Cooking oil

Crisp and dry.
Reply:Coconut oil is the best and it smells devine! x
Reply:With all the scientific/medical data that's come out over the years directly connecting tanning to melanoma (skin cancer) and various other forms of skin damage you're still doing it??? Very foolish.
Reply:Lard.
Reply:u can actually buy dry oil spray, which is like factor 4 so its not very pretecting from the sun, but it does help to tan u! the one i have used before smelt like coconuts! =]
Reply:Bergasol is the best cream for a really rich dark tan - I have Italian skin also, and this is best for me. It's a little difficult to find in the stores now (you used to be able to get it at Boots) but you can still find it in department stores. It's not the cheapest but, believe me, for olive skin it really does give you a rich nut-brown glow.
Reply:chip fat..
Reply:There is so much in the media about skin cancer. I can't believe you want to use oil to tan. Just stay out the sun full stop or fake it.
Reply:Use the highest factor you can - you'll start looking leathery if you tan too much. You don't want to end up looking like Donatella Versace do you?? Scary (shivers)
Reply:when i use oil i tend to burn so instead i have water fights and get soaked then i lie in the sun, the heat absorbs the water and gives me a gourgeous tan (well...i dont tan easily)

this way you can have fun, be cooled down in the summer and then get a good tan.

natural tans are better than orange tans that make people look like they've been tango'd and have streaks down their legs.

try it for a bit then if not i would recoment moisturising cream with a bit of tan in e.g. johnsons

How long should i wait till i can shower after tanning?

I heard you shouldent shower after a tan for 6 hours, is this true? if not how long should i wait till i can shower? and any ideas how to make a tan better

How long should i wait till i can shower after tanning?
I never wait after I tan to shower dude, and my tan is always good, it never ruins it or whatever. You should be fine.
Reply:I have never heard that before. I always tan right away. To keep your tan nice, use moisturizer after showering. Nivea makes a really good one called smooth skin or something like that. Its not scented so guys can use it too. Put the lotion on while you are still kind of damp because it will absorb better. Aloe is good also.
Reply:if you are tanning naturally, you can't wash a tan off - it is produced from within your skin

if you are tanning in a tanning bed and using lotion, shower whenever you want - again, your tan is in your skin, not on it and if you're using the tanning lotions, rinse them off because some of them can irritate your skin

if you are getting a spray tan, wait 24 hours for it to absorb completely

whichever you are doing, make sure you keep your skin moisturized after you shower because it will help your tan last longer!

Should you wear sun tan lotion when going tanning at a salon?

Any form of rays is damaging to your skin, sunbeds are worse than natural rays, you definitely need to put a factor on when on a sunbed/stand up system. You want to go for lotions with UVA as this filters the rays but allows you to tan still. UVB BLOCKS it all and tanning will be harder.

P20 is the most amazing thing I've used. I have extremely fair, sensitive skin and was going abroad for the first time this year. I was goin on a sunbed to try build up a bit of a tan but for only 3 mins at a time or I would have burnt. I slapped on loads of P20 and managed 6mins with not one red patch or any burning and after I got home and showered I had a visible thong mark!!!

Good luck

Should you wear sun tan lotion when going tanning at a salon?
If I were you I wouldn't go tanning at a salon or anywhere else for that matter. Ultraviolet rays are great for getting skin cancer
Reply:Yeah, you've gotta stop those harmful rays that your paying to get.
Reply:no need dear
Reply:yes... and no.... there is special stuff you get to put on... or you will burn
Reply:Yes because it's just as bad or worse for the skin than the natural sun, if you want to look like you got a tan at the beach, save up your tanning salon money and go to the beach. I never understood why people think turning half baked looks better.
Reply:You can get skin cancer just as easily from tanning bed as from being outdoors, YES wear something.
Reply:Did you know that skin cancer is becoming one of the biggest killers ?

This is due to the hole in Ozone layer getting larger thus letting in more UV Rays, Pol seem to think going to tanning salons and laying in sun all day is a cool thing to do.WOW look how brown I am....

There is a price to pay for being ignorant, when it is well known that sun tan lotion is a minimal solution to stop getting carcinomas.....Just be aware that you must be protected at all times even in Salons where you can and do get burnt more easily....cheers
Reply:The salon should tell you that before you go.

How do I get rid of orange blotches from self tanning my legs?

I used self tanner last Saturday and it came out really dark and bad so I've been scrubbing my legs with a loofah every time I shower but there are still patches on the tops of my feet and on my legs. Any suggestions for getting rid of them? I'm gonna get a mystic tan on Monday night (they work for me!) and I'd like all these spots gone by then but I don't want to make my legs really dry by scrubbing too hard.

How do I get rid of orange blotches from self tanning my legs?
Unfortunately thats what those self tanning creams do, they dye your skin. Some are orange some not, it all depends on the brand.

You have to just let it wear off with washings. But if you put a good tan over it, it may cover it and not be noticable.

Otherwise I would say start scrubbing and then put lots of body lotion on for the dry skin.
Reply:Don't scrub away at it. I used lemon juice on a cotton ball and wiped it on my leg then left it for a bit. Then when I showered, the tanner faded alot. Baking soda or body hair bleach will help. Also maybe take a bath or go swimming for a bit. that should reduce the orange-ness. If you do scrub, do it gently.

Tanning Bed: what helps get u darker? Arms/legs still light. Help?

I've been going for about 3 weeks. My stomach and back are getting a pretty color but my arms/legs and chest are still hardly getting darker. I'm naturally light skinned.

Also, I don't trust whatever they have to clean the beds with. Is there anything I could take to clean it extra before getting in it? I'm a germophobe. But considering what may be on the bed I just want some extra protection.

Tanning Bed: what helps get u darker? Arms/legs still light. Help?
It is typical for the core of your body to tan faster than your legs and arms since those have less fat. You should use a dark tanning lotion, like hawaiin trop that may have some advancer in it for speeding up the process. Try using different positions in the bed to get an all over even tan. You could always take some handy anti-bacterial wet wipes in with you to wipe down the bed.
Reply:tannin beds are not good for your skin they can cause cancer
Reply:have the tan bed lady give u some tanning lotion that will darker areas that are lighter. there are tons.
Reply:just use a spray tann

theyre so much easierrr

and last longer

and theyre not dangerous like tanning bedss
Reply:you can bring a cleaner that safe for acrylic, make sure you check the bottle but something like fantastic might work. Also to get those areas darker I would suggest a bronzing lotion or a hot action, which will cause a tingling sensation for awhile but will bring the blood to the surface of the skin and make the pigment change faster.

Is it ok to lay in the tanning bed several days in a row?

I am getting a little red in certain places.....but i am trying to get as tan as possible in just 24 days....should i just cover places and lay?

Is it ok to lay in the tanning bed several days in a row?
Well I'm going to be a spoil sport and tell you that the year before last I went for that super tan in the tanning bed, and last summer I had 3 moles removed that tested positive for melanoma cancer. It didn't start in the tanning bed, I've always been a sun worshiper. But the DR told me the tanning bed accelerated it. You can get skin cancer from outside and a tanning bed. I now use Jergens self tanning lotion.
Reply:oh my gosh. that doesnt sound good! maybe you could look into a spray tan if you need it done in such a short amount of time.
Reply:if you are red that means you are burnt and if you keep going if you are burnt thats BAD! You really shouldn't use them period but if you are burnt, depending how bad I would wait a few days. If you want a tan really fast then do the spray on kind. If your Tummy is burnt then you can cover it and still go. But if you are burnt in several areas I would just wait.
Reply:it is not good to tan every day. your skin will become very dry and you are obviously starting to burn. you need to moisturize your poor skin before you get wrinkles.
Reply:Artificial tanning, itself, isn't healthy to begin with.
Reply:No!!!! At most, go every other day. But be smart about it! 24 days is plenty of time to get a great tan. But if you burn and have to avoid the tanning bed altogether while your skin heals, then you are wasting time.

Invest in a tanning lotion that will help speed along color development and go to a high pressure bed to maximize your time in the bed without burning. Please only go every other day though! It's not worth a bad burn that could potentially lead to skin cancer down the line!
Reply:I am sorry to tell you this but you shouldn't do it.There is no healthy and safe to tan.Skin cancer is rising at a higher rate. When you tan your skin with sun or a tanning bed you are exposing your skin to UVA and UVB rays and these damage your skin. The best news are that there are now a lot of self tanners(yes, those that come in bottles)that can give you very good results and they dont damage your skin. They have been proven to be safe.Plus there are a lot choices and they can you natural looking results also.Check out Neutrogena and L'oreal self tanners , they can be found at drugstores and they have very good ones...goog luck.Do it for your health and skin. Dont fry your skin under the sun or a tanning bed.
Reply:i would start off by every other day-- when i see color then i would go 2x/week.
Reply:why are you aging your skin faster than it should be? and putting yourself at risk for skin cancer!

noone now can tell a real tan from the sunless tanners anymore

if you want a suggestion. I have alwayts enjoyed coppertones, gradual tan. you can build up your tan dailuy and safely without rotting your skin off... and use jergens natural glow for face....

they dont look orange. and dont streak . it looks liek a real tan... thats how i get my "tan" during the summer time.
Reply:Skin cancer...is tanning really worth it??
Reply:Um, no!

It damages the skin and turns people into orange carrots!

Get out in the sun!!
Reply:don't use a tanning bed ever again anywhere anytime...You will become very wrinkly and get skin cancer easily...Use a good fake tan...preferably with an spf
Reply:You should not go to a tanning salon. It is dangerous for your health, and in 10 years you will be very sorry when you notice your skin is starting to age more quickly! Use artificial tanning products, they are really good these days.
Reply:Its not good. At tanning salons, they are required by law to make sure you do not tan more than once every 24-48 hours(depending on the salon)....So...if you tan at 1pm on monday, it isn't okay to tan at 11am on tuesday. It really really damages the skin. And tanning beds are bad for you anyways. If you aren't normally able to catch a tan, it is doing more harm than good. Not being someone who natually tans means your body doesn't produce enough melonin (the pigment in your skin). When a person tans, the remaining melonin molecules replicate and produce more, which gives you the bronze color. But if you don't normally tan, then they are unable to replicate as quickly, so you burn much more. Which in turns gives you a much, much, much higher risk of getting melanoma (Skin Cancer).
Reply:Nooooooooooooo! haven't you heard/read that tan beds are almost as bad as frying your body out in the sun?? Be careful!
Reply:Hi.

My name is Mela Noma.

I'm looking forward to meeting you in 10 or 20 years.

the tanning creams are really quite good these days.

or, the spray on's work as well.
Reply:its definately not good for your skin to go everyday. and tanning when you have red spots is going to give you brown spots which are signs of UV/sun damage.

If your just using a conventional tanning bed, than your not going to see much results in a 24 day period.

try a medium pressure bed, this is 5x the tan in one session, they use different bulbs.

or my fav, try the high pressure, you see fast results and its 7x the tan

and great thing about medium and high pressure beds, you dont have to go nearly as often.

I go to the tanning bed and use Jergens natural glow. Will it interfere with the tanning bed?

IT COOKS YOUR IN SIDES. PEOPLE DIED THAT WAY

I go to the tanning bed and use Jergens natural glow. Will it interfere with the tanning bed?
Nope, not at all. However, you may still want to use a tanning lotion specifically for the tanning bed as well. They really do work...

Try Spellbound or Bohemia if you like bronzers. Try Drama Queen or Fiji's Naked Truth if you don't!
Reply:You can use tanning lotion and your shimmering lotion and mix them together and wow you will see results quick...

Tanning Body Lotion?

Ok I dont want to use a spray cause they also make me go very dark ( by the way im very pale i have ginger hair so u can imagine my skin ) Anyway when you look at red head lindsy lohan she has nice skin and i was wondeirng what kind of body lotion works for fair skin ?

Tanning Body Lotion?
nivea summer beauty moisturizer and firming lotion, works really nicely. Dosent give an orangey look like the johnson's holiday skin. apply it before you go to bed, you'll see results after one day.

Good luck x.x.x
Reply:I think she looks orange... gross
Reply:get something that gradually works so it isnt just all at once i think jergens has something like that
Reply:My friends use Dove tanning lotion. All you have to do is rub it on your skin like lotion you start gettin tanner after about a week or 3 days.
Reply:I don't think she uses any body lotion, I believe she goes to tanning beds.
Reply:Try just like stuff you rub on.... like out of a container.

Some good brands:

Coppertone

XP

Hope I helped!

Also a heavier level 3-5 on a normal sun screen should work.

I would NOT use spray though.

=) Good Luck!
Reply:hiya i have a friend who is exactly like you- she uses johnsons holiday skin body lotion every 2-3 days. She mixes part of the holiday skin lotion with a moisturiser from Boots the Chemist which is for fair skin- the holiday skin is a reasonable price- as is the boots moisturiser. Be careful not to use the johnsons stuff everyday otherwise your face will look like your hair as my friend found out!!!!

I hope that this has helped you.
Reply:Avon skin so soft, satin glow daily body moisturiser.

At the bottom of the tube it says what kind of skin tones it is suited for. You will need to look for 'Fair skin tones'
Reply:Hi, Im also ver pale, and I find it hard to find any sprays or lotions that dont make me go orange, so which are the ones that make you go dark ?

Anyways I wouldnt Say Lindsey Lohan is vey pale. I think she has a rosy complexion and she is no way near as pale as me. So obvioulsy if she has got a tan then she has had it done professionally.

I have tried all the tanning body Lotions and I find that the ones for fair skin arent very good and you dont get a good result from putting it on everyday for ages it just doesnt seem to get any darker.

And if I use the one for darker skin I end up streaky etc.

I have been using the Dove one for normal to Dark Skin Tones. Its good but still leaves the skin orange, and I also exfoliated before Ive been using it and Im still getting a streaky and it onyl these bits that keep getting darker. it doesnt look too bad, but wat im going to do is continue for another few days and then start using one for light skin to top up every few days as I have the base tan of using the Dove.

I think dove is bay far the best one Ive used and I have tried then all, and until this on I didnt like the other as they all have a really sickly smell and some dont rub in as well as others. I like the simple one as it has no smell and you get a good result with the fair skin one, but it just takes ages to rub in and to dry. It ok if you have alot of time on your hands.

But I think if this Dove one doenst work and In the next few day i get more orange, im just going to put up with being pale, and Im just going to make sure my skin i healthy and glowing buy exfoliation and moisturiseing with a bodty shimmer like Body Gloss by Palmers. The best exfoliatior is Buffy from lush, Leaves the skin glowing and healthy and moisturiesed.

Tanning bed question?!!??

if you go like twice, is that alright? do they work? do they make you orange? and when your in the bed thing is it scary or hott or anything?? thanks!

Tanning bed question?!!??
its not a good idea to go twice in one day..you can but dont, best is if you go every other day and do 7-10min(half decent bed) per session...to get a nice tan you need to have at least 4-5 sessions and depending on some beds even thats not enough...unless you want to spend more money and get high-end bed package...most reputable tanning salons have fans blowing cold air in their beds ..i find tanning to be fun and relaxing..but dont over doit ..in the long run not good for your skin..i usually go tanning b4 a vacation just to get a nice base going
Reply:Twice in one day? No, that's not good for you. They never make me orange, and they work really well. It's not scary or hot as long as the temperature is right with the fan (which normally you can control the fan) Good luck!
Reply:Tanning is never going to be safe.

Tanning beds do not make you orange (fake tanning lotion tends to) It isn't scary in the bed, many place music some high end beds even mist you. It does tend to be hot but not anything impossible to withstand.
Reply:twice in one day...no...orange..no..hott yess...or very warm rather...scary not so much unless you dont like small places.
Reply:if you go very often to the point where you are "too tan", they can make you look orange-brown. its not scary, you pull the top of the bed over yourself but there is a 2-3 inch crack all the way around, so you aren't completely sealed inside. it can get hot if you are in there for say..20 minutes, but its very relaxing. dont forget that it can cause cancer!
Reply:Two times won't make much of a difference. You really don't start getting a good base tan until after 4 or 5 visits.

No they aren't scary.

No, they don't make you orange... DO NOT try to buy self tanning stuff at the store or they WILL make you orange.
Reply:The bed is not scary or hot, but I do suggest bringing an ipod or mp3 player along because the noise from the bed can be annoying. Go for a short time your first time, like maybe 10-15 mintues. Yes, your lighter skin toned area's (buttox and breasts) will start to turn red after your first and second time, but that will go away, especially if you apply a moisturizer after you go tanning. I suggest you go everyday for a week for 15 minutes. That's what I did, but usually going only twice will not make you tan, you have to go like 5 times.
Reply:I worked with a girl that went 2-3 times a week, her skin got leathery and her ovaries got messed up bad. She can't have kids anymore. Having that must direct exposure to radiation is just going to end your life quicker. Do it naturally or not at all unless your health doesn't matter, then do it all the time.
Reply:be sure they are clean because if the person before you had crabs you can get it too. HAVE FUN!!!!! :)
Reply:Done in moderation and while following precautions (wearing eye wear, tanning lotion, not going excessively) it is OK. But as with anything if it is abused it is harmful to you. It can get hot at times and my advise would be to get out if you start feeling hot. Make sure you put some lotion on your skin after wards and perhaps some chap-stick on your lips before you go. Take it slow though... it is still something that will damage your skin if you do not use it right and risk sun poisoning, aging of skin, and cancer if abused.
Reply:You should never go get tanned twice in one day.. you will be tanned as it is just after one go.!

yes, going twice or tooo often can make you turn orange.. which doesn't even look like a nice tan.. try going twice every 2 weeks or something.. believe me, it works so beautifully! All my friends think i went on vacation or something! you'll look gorgeous.

nope.. it's not really all that hot.. just lukewarm.. you may find it a bit uncomfortable at first, but as you keep giong, it gets much better!!

have fun, !

Reply:Tanning period is not safe. They used to think that the uvb rays cause cancer, but people who used to tan have gotten cancer because the dose of uva rays is twice as much as you would get from the sun.
Reply:just try it
Reply:thrice also.
Reply:Exposure to UV rays, be it the sun or tanning beds can always increase your chances of getting skin cancer. Of course, this does increase more so according to how often you go. Tanning more than once a day is also a very bad idea. Once daily is the maximum.

It will not make you orange, no. They will give you a tan very similar to what you'd get tanning outdoors in the sun. Some beds can get pretty hot, but they all have fan controls inside the bed where you can adjust the fan to cool you off. A lot of tanning beds also have a fan outside the bed in each room, for a little extra cooling. It's not scary at all, unless you are claustrophobic or something.

How do i get tan without going tanning of any sort and without using the lotions that make you look orange?

i dont want to look unevenly colored or have to sit naked and dry for hours something quick that won't wash off and thats cheap and lasting helllpppppp

How do i get tan without going tanning of any sort and without using the lotions that make you look orange?
use san trope self tan lotion. it goes on evenly and you can add more after the first day if its too light, or exfoliate the day after if its to dark, to tone it down abit
Reply:go tan. you dont have to lay down still. just do something in the sun in your bathing suit. like yardwork. or go to the beach %26amp; swim or something :)
Reply:listen to me...goto one of the ski/snowboarding places...check the weather there and go when the weathers good, like the suns out...ski or snowboard and have fun...youll tan like crazy
Reply:Spray paint?
Reply:you could try that spray tanning stuff...you go to a booth and stand there, hold your breath and they airbrush you
Reply:try a VACATION (it works)
Reply:Get a spray tan. Most people are afraid that spray tans will make them turn orange, but if you exfoliate before you go and you rub in the spray really well, you get a nice even glow. A senior took me and some of my freshmen friends to do this before homecoming and it was so fun! It works really well too! Just don't use an oil-based lotion after the tan or it will come off. The tan lasts for about a week and costs around 15-20 dollars.

Tanning lotion?

what kind of lanning lotion will not make u turn orange or put strikes in ur skin? and were is it sold?

Tanning lotion?
Jergins Natural glow works great for me. I am very fair skinned so I chose the light one and it's great! just make sure you wash your hands after applying
Reply:My aunt and I both use Coppertone's "Endless Summer". It comes in a green bottle, that has the tanner and lotion seperated, but they come out together when you pump it to apply.

I can't describe it very well, so here's a picture: http://img.epinions.com/images/opti/18/b...

It's sold pretty much everywhere, Meijer, Target... and I've never had a BIG problem with spots or streaks. Every once in a while I will get some streaks or spots, but it's easy to touch up and fix.

You could also try the spray on tan at tanning salons. As long as you do exactly what they say and remember to wash off your hands (esp. between your fingers) and wrists, it should turn out great.
Reply:for a tanning bed? or for a self tanner? it depends on what type of bronzer it has in it.........dha bronzers don't turn you orange..........email me if you have more questions i used to work at a tanning salon
Reply:well i get the bannana boat tanning lotion! all tanning lotions will get you orange, you just have to spread it out evenly.(dont forget to wash your hands right away after you put it on. before putting it all over your body, i suggest you test it on you stomack on a little part. that way if it doesnt turn out good it wont show.

here is what i ues. oh ya you can get it at walgreens!

Reply:it all depends on how evenly you apply it and i usually use neutrogena.

Tanning beds?

i went twice already with my membership. the first time 6 minutes and then the second day 8 minutes. i got no sunburn or no results. ??

Tanning beds?
I'd go maybe 12 minutes then. If this gets you no results, then try for 15. You must not burn easily, so you can go longer and need to go longer for results. The amount of time you have gone would be for a fair skinned person just starting out. I get a lil burnt starting out at 6 minutes, but not too bad... and Im fair skinned, burn a lil before tanning.

Also ask when the bulbs were last changed. If its been awhile they are weaker. Be careful when bulbs are newly changed, you burn quicker.
Reply:Or stop wasting your money and energy on a tacky fake bake.
Reply:It takes at least 8-10 visits to see a tan in those beds. Be patient and don't increase the time too quickly. I tan really slow but can keep a good amount of color after the first 10 sessions.

Tanning beds?

Okay I know whatu're all going to say don't do it but I'm aware of the risk I just have a few questions.. Like about how much dos it costo go in? and if you go in for longer time? i know prices vary but i just want to know around how much

Tanning beds?
try a spray tan i think its about $40 but it lasts so much longer, like 3 weeks or so and is safer
Reply:lay in the sun.Im not even fkn kidding. When you go to a tanning bed you look so fake. Its just like spray on tan,you end up coming out with this wierd orangish color.Thats NOT sexy at all.
Reply:for hair care and skin care and more related

just step into
Reply:pale is the new tan =]

maybe you can use tanning cream or lay in the sun. a lot of people get skin cancer or spots. but if you really wanna do it then once every week or 2. it kills skin cells i guess. for like a month its 50.00 where i live.
Reply:This greatly depends on where you go. I went to a little salon around my house and spent $30 for one month unlimited tanning. I only went once because their beds were weak beds, I didn't flush or even get warm in the bed. It felt like a waste of my time. On the other hand I have gone to a place here in orlando to do a high pressure tan and spent $30 on the one tan alone. Some tanning salons will charge you up front for a package, but at most salons you should be able to pay for tans one at a time. I would say for a regular bed, not turbo or HP, and for one tan it would be around 6-18 dollars. If you are not going into a new high-tech super power bed, it will be on the low end. If you are at a super nice salon with a bed that spritzes you with cold mist and a chocolate awaits you on the pillow - you get the idea.

Good news though! When you call around to ask for prices, usually they will give you a couple free tans or at least a discount on lotion minimum...definitely ask about it, they will try to use bonuses to get you in their salon as opposed to another salon. All the salons are dying to bid for a new customer's business. If you call around a bit, I can almost promise you that you could get some free stuff. You can check out most of the salons in your area on free and discounted tans and figure out which one you want to go to permanently and not spend hardly any money doing it.

As far as the time, it depends on your skin type. When you go in they will suggest a time that is proper for your skin's condition and the bed you choose. If you are very white and burn and freckle and peel they might suggest a very short time to begin with. You can burn in the beds fast so take their advice, especially if you are tanning nude for the first time....ouch. Trust me.

The price for the session unfortunately is never prorated according to the minutes you stay...at least thats how it is everywhere I've been. If you're getting in a bed you can stay in for 15 minutes and you are encouraged to only go in for 8, it will be the same price. There is always a top amount of time for each bed that any person is allowed to stay in, and you will never get to stay in longer than that, they will not let you due to insurance reasons. In addition, most salons will make you wait 24 hours before repeating a session. I have been to some that will let you go in anytime the next business day even if it's only 16 hours later, and also I have been in some that make you wait at least 24 hours. There are some beds that they suggest you give your skin a 2 days break, but I've never had that enforced on me.

I'll spare you the lecture about skin health (I get to hear it all the time) but in case you were interested, the spray tan varies quite a bit in price where I am from, I have seen it for $10 and I have seen it for $40...I believe the cheaper one is for the booth (Mystic) spray tan and the more expensive ones are for an airbrush artist who hand sprays the tanning formula on you, which I have been told makes the tan more even and less streaky than the booth.

If you have any more questions you can email me.

Hope I helped

Reply:As you already know yeah it varies by salon .. Ive been to 3 diffrent tanning salons and the cheapest is 5 dollars per visit and the highest ive had is 12 dollars per visit ... but if your planning on going often you can get what they call a package of minutes .. depending on how many minutes changes the cost i always go by 1 visit so i dont know the average prices for the packages ... and for the tanning salons ive been to the times in which you tan like 5 min to 20 min the cost is the same.. also! ive been tanning for almost a year now and do it very often and im not an orange color im a golden brown kinda color .. im a brunette and i notice that mostly blondes get the weird orangish color

Tanning Lotion For Africans ????

I was at a drug store and i saw a light skin african american purchasing the new jergens natural glow and was wondering would it do the the same thing it does to white people's skin.

(I have nothing against blacks)

Tanning Lotion For Africans ????
if they're light skinned then yes. But not someone of my complexion.
Reply:I'm pretty dark, so I don't use tanning stuff, but I know that people with lighter skin tones do tan and use it regularly.
Reply:No it won't on darker skinned blacks. It will only make us glow.
Reply:AFRICANS OR AFRICAN AMERICANS?! WOW!! Yes it does the same thing. We are not aliens;just some of Us "AFRICAN AMERICAN" chose not to tan. I love my skin tone CARAMEL!

Tanning? any quick solution.?

Fake-N-Bake. There are many good self tanners on the market.

Make sure you ex foliate to get the dead skin off first, esp on knees, elbows %26amp; ankles. Then Blend Blend Blend. More light coats are better than one thick coat. There is less chance of streaking. Be careful where you skin folds so that you don't collect tanner in the folds and make lines. IE wrists etc. Wash your hands so that you don't end up with tanned palms.

I like to use the fake tanners in addition to getting some sun, usually after 3 PM.

God Bless You, ;-)

Tanning? any quick solution.?
if u want to tann in the sunn ,, put some oil on andd try tanning by the ocean or a pooll if possible lay on a floatable bed in a pool.

Tanning with an SPF 45 sunscreen.?

How long should I be outside when I have the sunscreen on? I don't have any 15 or lower. I am fair skinned. Maybe 30 minutes outside...45?

Tanning with an SPF 45 sunscreen.?
if u use a sunscreen with such a high sun protection factor, u probably wont get any result... normally i use a suntan lotion and not a sunscreen
Reply:considering your light skinned, i defiantely wouldnt use anything lower than at least 30. i would probably only stay out for 40 minutes at a time. go inside and wait about ten minutes. and check in a mirror to see if your getting any color.

:]
Reply:It really doesn't matter. It just means that you have 45x more time than the amount of time you could go outside and not get burnt not wearing sunscreen...I'd tan for 20-30 minutes, then you should have a nice and even tan...but wear sunglasses and a hat so you protect your eyes and face from premature aging.

What is your opinion on using a tanning booth.?

I love to be tan but I don't want to ruin my skin.

What is your opinion on using a tanning booth.?
I don't like tanned skin. I like the natural look.
Reply:I think spray tan is much better.
Reply:It could cause cancer in later years. I would stay away from tanning salons.
Reply:No tanning booth, it will ruin your skin!

Better to get some sun naturally, or use makeup.
Reply:The temporary tanned look isnt worth the potential risks to your health later on.
Reply:Over a period of time your skin will begin to look old and dried out. Also, you are risking getting skin cancer. Artificial tanning with lotions is safe and looks natural. The use of tanning lights and the sun can do damage.
Reply:i dont go tanning at all.. but i think if i did i would just do the spray tan.. or u can just get a tan like go and put on wat you tan in.. and just go work outside then you can get a tan and still get stuff done..lol..
Reply:tanning is bad. i don't go. if you go once a week or more, A LOT, it is bad. this is because the UV rays are much more closer to your skin compared to if you went sun tanning. if you go frequently, it may cause cancer and pre-mature wrinkles.

Tanning lotion...?

Anyone use Jergin's Natural Glow? I heard when you're pregnant your hormones can change the chemical reaction to certain things. I'd hate for it to come out a weird color. Thanks.

Tanning lotion...?
When I was pregnant I used self tanners all the time! I didn't want to lay out in the sun but I also didn't want to be so white! I had no weird reactions to any self tanners. I used Jergins Natural glow and I liked the results. If you want a darker tan try St. Tropez.. it works really well! Congrats on your baby!
Reply:those lotions always turn me a weird colour. eeww. be pale and interesting instead! congrats x
Reply:Im using something similar on my face right now and Im not having any trouble.
Reply:The only way to know what it will do to you is to do a test on some part of your skin that isn't usually seen.
Reply:i am using jergans natural glow right now..i got pretty dark quickly and u can really see the little parts on my ankles where i missed....it only took 2 applications and i already have changed color quite a bit...but i was realy really white too..i dunno...if u are gonna use it make sure you are really really even everywhere

Tanning while pregnant??

is it true...when you first become pregnant and the embryo isnt very old, going to the tanners will kill it??

Tanning while pregnant??
Possibly yes... my doctor told me not to tan... I listened.. and when I went to cancel my sessions, the guy tried to talk me back into it saying he knew a girl who was 6 months and still tanning... but I said no way... listen to the doctor- ask them what they say... but I highly don't recommend tanning while preggo.
Reply:Do some kind of damage, that ultraviolet light, be careful
Reply:I know your not supossed to tan while pregnant, and the chances of miscarriage are in the the first few months, so I guess it is possible. Use the spray tan machine.
Reply:I bet.tanning is heat.You better stop.
Reply:Tanning while pregnant can seriously harm the baby. Do not tan in a salon. I work in a tanning salon and we do not allow pregnant women to tan. There is too high of a risk. There is self tanner that you can use, that's what I have been using throughout my pregnancy :)
Reply:the rays from the tanning bed can harm the baby they put warning on stuff for a reaon and im sure they dont want to loose money from thousands of pregnant women but its federally proven that they will hurt you!
Reply:Have you tried Johnson and Johnsons holiday skin. It is a moisturiser that when used daily builds to a natural looking tan and it isnt as messy and horrible as fake tan.

I found that when i became pregnant i couldnt use it but there is another brand on the market called Dove Summer Glow - i highly recommend it. Some people frown and say any chemicals on the skin is bad but from what i have read the active ingredient only penetrates the first layer of the skin so it should be safe.

I would steer clear of sun beds - a friend of mine just had a cancer burnt off and it wasnt pretty.

What is the best tanning oil that really makes a nice tan?

I have a very fair skin color.......... help I hate that!

What is the best tanning oil that really makes a nice tan?
Use ocean potion tan accelerator with the instant bronzer. It really does help you tan faster and gives you an instant glow that washes off. I would also reccommend using jergens natural glow daily moisterizer in the darkest shade. Works great!

good luck
Reply:don't use tanning oil!!!! Because you are really fair you will just get fried then regret it.... buy some lotion with some color. You'll get a healthy summer glow w/o looking like a lobster!

Can anyone recommend a good self tanning lotion that doesnt smell yuck?

I have tried so many different brands and they all have that underlying "fake tan" smell which I cant stand smelling on my skin!

Does anyone know of a good smelling one??

Can anyone recommend a good self tanning lotion that doesnt smell yuck?
Any tanning lotion by California Tan or Designer Skin will do the trick!

My favorite is 'Intrigue' by Designer Skin. It smells good and it has silicone in it (which hydrates your skin all day long).

Designer Skin has a lotion called 'Halo' which has an SPF4. It is awesome because it blocks some of the UV rays, but lets in uvb rays (the less harmful sun rays).

I try to avoid tanning in natural sunlight. The sun goes through all 7 layers of your skin where as tanning beds only go through the top 3 layers. But laying in the sun is so relaxing!

I would stay away from cheap brands like Banana Boat or Jergins. They tend to have sugars in the lotion that dry out your skin (which could cause breakouts and aging).
Reply:Coke the drink.
Reply:Neutrogena's build a tan is the best. I it looks like a real tan. Not orange and doesn't smell bad. Be sure to exfoliate your skin before applying so it looks good and last long.

Reply:Yes, you can bring your own, but make sure it is for use in tanning beds. The tanning salons usually say that oils and products not designed for indoor use damage their beds.

You can always buy tanning stuff at the salon, but I've found it to be a whole lot cheaper online. Ebay usually has some great deals on tanning stuff, and there are a ton of online stores too...such as lotionbarn.com, lotion4you.com, etc.

I like Designer Skin products. They have a wide range of lotions, from no bronzer, to one bronzer, to multiple bronzers, and lotions with and without tingle. My 2 favorites are Designer Skin Spellbound, which has 4 bronzers, and Black, which has 20x bronzers. Both have the silicone emulsion formula, which makes your skin feel really soft and silky after use. I'd definitely recommend a lotion with bronzers if you want to see results faster. They will help boost your color a lot.

I have tried about every brand out there, and have found that Designer Skin's products get me much darker than anything else I've used. But you might be different...so if you want, you could always try some sample packets of different things. The salon probably has those, and many places online do too. The only thing with that is...most of them are at least $5 each, so after you've tried quite a few, you really could've bought a full sized bottle of lotion.
Reply:Well it depends.

Most tanning places will want you to buy their products but if you don't want to have to buy new lotion then bring your own.

I would recommend getting a good brand with a low SPF about 15 so you don't damage your skin too much.

The best indoor tanning lotion? For tanning bed.?

I work at at a tanning salon, and i do not disagree that most staff are not knowledgable. However, my manager insists that we try samples of each product, thus, we can properly distinguish excellent lotions from the lotions that do nothing and are a huge waste of money. The cheaper lotions honestly do nothing. If you are not ready to splurge, just use a good moisterizer from home to keep your skin soft and moist. Expensive lotions do make a noticable differenece however. As someone posted, Designer Skin is a good choice and I would suggest using either Intrigue or Spellbound. Those are two pricey ones indeed, but they helped me reach the darkest I have ever been able to get, and since they contain a silicone, my skin is veeeery soft and feels amazing(Wow, I feel like I am making a sales pitch how emberasing). They go for about 70$ Canadian. Anyways, if you perhaps want a slightly cheaper lotion, the Tattoo lotions are also quite good and are about 20 dollars less. The high end austrialan gold line is also pretty good, but if you are going to spend that kind of money, your better off with the spellbound or intrigue lotions! hope i can be of help!

The best indoor tanning lotion? For tanning bed.?
Personally, I have tried several different kinds of lotions for the tanning bed. I've even spent over $50 before for a bottle. Either they stunk or made my skin break out. And, of course, most salons will not take lotions back once used. My cousin recommended that I try using Johnson's (Creamy Oil) Baby Lotion. (White bottle with pink cap.) I started using this last year and it works like a charm. Not only does the oil in it help me tan faster, it keeps my skin smooth. It also helps the dreaded "tanning smell" in case you tan on your lunch hour or you have somewhere to go afterwards and don't want to stink. Like I said, it works for me. It's a whole lot cheaper, so I recommend you giving it a try. It helps keep the skin moisturized after tanning too. Good luck!
Reply:Unfortunately, I can almost guarantee that if your tanning salon finds out that you are using anything other than indoor tanning lotions in the bed you will be strongly repremanded. The reason is that indoor tanning lotions are created for use on the acrylics that are used on the beds. Other lotions and oils leave a film on the beds that will cloud the acrylic, which then makes it virtually useless. The acrylics also become very hard to clean because the excess oils do not wipe clean from the bed, even with the sanitizer. I worked in a tanning salon for four years and I know the pains of trying to clean a bed after someone has used other lotions and oils! Please do not do this!

The best line to buy from is called Designer Skin. A spinoff brand from Designer Skin is also the Splash! line. These lotions are VERY good to use. Many of the new ones have antibacterial ingredients that help reduce the "after tan odor" as well as anti-aging and skin firming ingredients. Basically any lotion from this line will do you a world of good. Designer Skin is usually pretty pricey whereas Splash! should be much lower in price.

Does exercising before tanning help to increase the chance of tanning faster and/or darker? If not, any tips?

Excercising immediately before you tan increases circulation. This increase in circulation helps move the melanin around more evenly. But, it doesn't necessarily make you tan any darker.. just evens out the tan better.

You can get the same effect by buying a hot lotion (which also increases circulation in the skin). I always recommend a lotion when tanning. It helps moisturize the skin and keep it moist during the UV process (which leeches moisture from your skin).

Does exercising before tanning help to increase the chance of tanning faster and/or darker? If not, any tips?
I live in Florida, so I go for a long walk in the beach area. Combine sun, exercises!!!
Reply:Well what actually happens is, when you exercise you sweat, and your sweat leaves excess oil on your skin. That oil has the same effect as putting baby oil or aloe oil on your skin before you tan. You do burn | tan faster and (depending on your skin type) either darker or redder.

Its not particularly good for you. Picture oiling up a juicy roast before you put it in the oven. You're basically getting your skin ready to cook :) heehee. Enjoy though, and keep your face and neck in the shade. Even a little sun burn to this area will damage you for life.

And if however you do end up burning, run a lukewarm bath and put 'Rooibos' teabags (if you can find any in your country) in your bath.

It takes the pain away amazingly! And you heal faster.

Good luck!
Reply:I've never heard of that.

How much does temperature matter when it comes to tanning??

Well i really want to start toning my skin again by sitting outside but i havent been able to being winter an all but feb is comming and here in MD its usually in the 40s and if sunny the uv index will be "3 Moderate"....can i tan in this? of course im not looking for a summer tan but i want to get darker and blend some acne marks...

It doesn't matter at all. Though in the winter the UV index is relatively low.

Tanning will not help your acne discoloration in the long run.
Reply:just use fake tan, tanning is not good for your skin, yeh you might like it now but in the long run, your skin will get wrinkly and it'll make you look older

Reply:here we go again you might just consider going placesto get the stuff you want done like an LA TAN so just go places to do stuff but i do think that its cool you want to do stuff on your own. and if you dont have money think about having a grage sale, selling lemonade or thinking up a nifty idea of your own. abbeyd p.s. the "rock" is my daddys cousin

What is the best way to tan quickly without using that self tanner stuff but rather using a tanning bed?

They have different kind of beds. A regular one, medium one, then a high one. I would recommend doing the regular one first probley about 2-3times. Then go ahead and jump to the highest bed BUT don't go the full length because you will burn. I find that the stand up bed(which is one of the strongest) is best.

What is the best way to tan quickly without using that self tanner stuff but rather using a tanning bed?
using a tanning bed

laying out in the sun

sprayy tan
Reply:Abroad!
Reply:Go every other day / every day and slowly build up your time that you stay in. Start with 10 minutes and add about 2 minutes each time. But go slowly, if you notice a burn skip a day or 2. Whenever I need a quick tan for an event, I go every single day for a week and I'm good. Just be careful not to burn!!
Reply:everyday for 15 to 20 minutes and use lotion before going in and use after lotion to help keep your tan. I will be going tanning here pretty soon,I start around march or April.I always get a Great tan.Make sure the beds are clean and that it is not over 100 in the room.Always make sure the goggles are clean and where them.I don;t where anything when I tan.
Reply:Some tanning salons offer a "spray tan" that doesn't have that orange look. Alot of celebrities use it, for a quick tan.
Reply:you could use a tanning bed if you wish to maybe die quicker?

those things are nasty apparantly worse than laying in the sun, use a spray tan if being "tanned" is a must for you. i would do some research before getting into a tanning bed thats for sure!

What kind of tanning lotion can you use at a tanning salon?

the stuff they sell is SO EXPENSIVE. Is it necessary?

What kind of tanning lotion can you use at a tanning salon?
It really DOES make a difference (at least in my opinion) ...the tanning lotions have so much more vitamins and antioxidants than other store lotions. Healthy %26amp; moisturized skin tans much faster and looks better (not wrinkly and dry), but they do jack the prices up on tanning lotion at the salons (they do have to make money ya know) but you can get tanning lotions much cheaper on the internet. Try lotionsource.com or lotion4you.com. Lotions are about half off retail price! A good cheap tanning lotion is Brown Envy by Synergy...good luck
Reply:You can buy cheaper brands at any drug store and they work just as well.Make sure you moisturize a lot and exfoliate around knees, elbows and ankles, or it looks funny, even fake tanning will give you an uneven tan, good luck and happy tanning!!
Reply:well.. Im guessing if they sell it AT the tanning salon, and they dont recommend that you use other products.. its probably for a good reason.. It may be expensive, but thats just because the tannong salon knows that you havta buy in order to get a good tan. Its a great marketing scheme called "supply and Demand"

Is there a tanning product that helps pale people to develop a real tan (not fake)?

yeah, we bought some stuff in Maui that is a tan accelerator, it is called Maui Babe browning lotion. you can get it on ebay, but I highly recommend going to Maui and getting it there!

Is there a tanning product that helps pale people to develop a real tan (not fake)?
Johnson's make a cream called holiday lotion, its in a yellow bottle. Its like moisturiser but gradually helps to build a light tan. You can get it at any supermarket and it actually works , which i was so suprised about. It made my legs a golden brown colour
Reply:Yes. Melanotan is a drug that was developed to trigger the body's natural tanning ability.

Tanning is caused by an increased release of the pigment melanin into the skin's cells after exposure to ultraviolet radiation.

Everything else is strictly a coloring product.

Would I still tan if I wore makeup in a tanning bed?

like foundation, etc...or is it better to wear no makeup at all? i heard UV rays go thru anything..

Would I still tan if I wore makeup in a tanning bed?
Unless you are wearing mineral makeup you will still tan. Mineral makeup contains ingredients that have natural UV blocking properties. Keep in mind wearing cosmetics under direct exposure may cause you to tan unevenly.
Reply:Yes but it is strongly advises to not wear make up. If you get sweaty, your makeup will run.
Reply:I'm sure you'd still tan but i wouldnt wanna get all sweaty and hot and my makeup melting all over my face and into my pores...
Reply:You can wear your makeup. UV Rays go thru anything except sunscreen.
Reply:Clean faces tan best, simple as that.
Reply:why would u want to wear make-up when u go to a tanning bed????
Reply:Don't go into tanning beds. They give you a fake looking tan.

If i use tanning out in (84 degress and sunny weather) can i get tan from 3:30-5 @ the beach?

yeah just wear low factor tanning oil something like banana boat or something really good stuff

Yes, but wear sunscreen.

if ur in a pageant no

tanning beds are bad for ur health
Reply:I am pretty sure that the don't recommend it. Too hot for the baby.
Reply:I think it would be best to consult a Dr b4 you go tanning while being pregnant.
Reply:uh if you're in a pageant, then yeah, if you're pregnant, no way! Tanning beds age your insides as well as your outside!
Reply:you're obviously are too young AND too stupid anyways.....GO FOR IT!
Reply:No please dont. i dont understand why people use tannig beds it will be snowing and you see a girl walking around with a tan, its ridiculous, i dont even think u can use fake tan of hair dye and stuff, just go peely wally for 9 months and save yourself from hurting your unborn child and givin g yourself skin cancer
Reply:I did and nothing happened. But if you have any worries it is always best to consult a doc.
Reply:I don't think you should but I listed my source for you
Reply:No
Reply:Skin Cancer ...sounds bad dont it

just get out in the sun more and the fresh air will do you good
Reply:Yes you can tan while your pregnant. There are no studies that show that UVA/UVB is harmful to an unborn fetus. However, if you are in your third trimester you should avoid tanning in any type of bed that requires you to lay flat on your back. I would suggest a booth. Better yet, skip the tanning bed, get a spray tan and save yourself the added misery of a sun burn, while your pregnant! Not to mention that exposure to tanning can intensify the long term effects that stretch marks leave.
Reply:Please tell me you aren't pregnant.

Seriously, you can't even spell!
Reply:Do you mean pregnant? In a pagent? Thats all I can think of.

I want a tan in the winter! I don't want to go to the tanning salon what should I do?

lotion like Jergans or something?!??!

I want a tan in the winter! I don't want to go to the tanning salon what should I do?
you can go to the tanning salon and get a spray tan...the tan will be real noticeable and last at least 4 days before it starts flaking off.

you can buy your own tanning lotion from drug stores and department stores (varying prices)

ive been using jergans lotion for about 2 years now and i think it gets the job done. i use a darker color in the summer and use the lightest color in the winter so it doesnt look to fake or natural. if you want to look natural jergans (or many other gradual tanning lotions) will be your best choice.
Reply:i have tried those lotion tanners and the spray ones they all turn out orange..
Reply:Jergens is great, but I went the other day and did the Mystic Tan, the airbrush one for a little more money and I love it...I will go back..it takes 1 minute and is very easy and looks so great without damaging your skin....it lasts for a week or so and I totally recommend you do this........
Reply:i use jergens natural glow. use medium if your actually medium tone, light if your light to medium and dark, if well your dark. that way it wont make you orange.

its pretty gradiual but doesnt make you orange. but i have a tanning bed so i use those both.
Reply:For all information and details about tanning please check out http://use-tanning.blogspot.com/
Reply:i had to use jergens natural glow for a wedding because i was speaking and had to wear a halter topbut i had a "farmer tan" on my arms from track. so i had to use the jergens stuff to even it out(bad idea)! it smelled TERRIBLE. the only thing i could think about when i was speaking was how bad it smelled! but i guess if you are desperate then it is o.k. but i hated it.

When you are tanning what side gets the tannest the side you are laying on or the other??

The side you're not laying on because it gets more sun. =]

When you are tanning what side gets the tannest the side you are laying on or the other??
The other side will be tanned the most because the side you are laying on will be in the shade and the sun can't get to it.
Reply:on a tanning bed, both sides gets tanned. but you can switch to even it properly.

Do i have take my GF tanning every time i go?

I buy tans ahead of time because sometimes i don't

have the money and its cheaper if you buy a package. am i obligated to take my gf with me just because we are together this week?

Do i have take my GF tanning every time i go?
Nope.
Reply:No, she can pay for herself.
Reply:Do you honestly think that this tanning situation is going to hurt your g/f? If you really think shes going to get upset then i would say go for it but other then that I don't think its something to stress.
Reply:just ask her if she wants to
Reply:NO! You are not obligated to anyone, unless you actually invite them and say, I got you covered!
Reply:oh common, be real. she's ur gf not ur mom!!!!
Reply:Tell her how much it is for the tanning sessions and say do you want to buy a month or a few sessions?

Is the ultrabronze tanning bed better than regular tanning beds?

actually it should be. bronzing rays (UVA) go deeper into your skin to hold color longer and better. they also take away the red tint that you might posess when you are tanning. and they are usually not as hot temperature wise!

Is the ultrabronze tanning bed better than regular tanning beds?
I dont think so im sure they just gave it a big name to sound better the sales peps tend to do that

Hi..i'am 17 yr boy.,my problem is tanning....?
hi,ashwin!

sunburn is a condition that it better prevented then terated.

the best thing u can do is pamper ur skin with peanut, olive oil.heal lot's....... of lemon juice before going out!!!.

grate n squeeze cucumber.spread the seeds n juice over the burn.or u can use a home madeanti- sun burn lotion .

just take 1 egg whiten 1 lemon add juice to the white egg . transfer contents to a pan n simmer on low fire till it thickens.cool it .apply to sunburn n do not wash off.
Reply:try wearing as much lotion as possible lotion for body and sunscreen. i dont know much i am sorry but also wear a huge hat!

I just want to tan my legs, and a friend told me to just wear a long sleeved shirt if I don't want my arms any tanner. Is this really ok?

Can you wear a long sleeved shirt in a tanning salon?
perfectly fine if that is what you want =]
Reply:i guess so...but why would you want to only have darker legs...thats really weird. if i were you i would most def get both darkened.
Reply:Sure, I see no reason it wouldn't work. I'd make sure your shirt doesn't have metal buttons or things that may get hot and burn your skin. A simple t-shirt would work fine.
Reply:i guess that would work......

but you should ask the tanning salon attendent to make sure...

Is there such thing as a tanning lotion?

Is there such a lotion that tans the skin instead of staying under the hot sun? If there is, what are the names of the product and what is the price? Also what kinds of markets can I buy it from? O yeah and one more thing is it safe to use them or are there some defects to it?

Is there such thing as a tanning lotion?
ya

hawaiian tropics

lavera

i think the pharmacy should have, you must make sure you do it evenly
Reply:There are many tanning lotions on the market today.

Jergens, for instance, makes one, but you will find many of them on the shelves at your pharmacy

The Jergens product is about nine dollars for a generous tube.
Reply:mm... U will find in in " The Body Shop" its a lotion and in the same time it will give you a great tan colour

and another one in Clinque...
Reply:Yep there are ALOT of them. They are moisturisers with a hint of self tan in. You can get it from Johnsons and it costs about 6 UK pounds. The only fault that i ever seemed to have is that you have to apply it ALL over and evenly because I found I had alot of patches.
Reply:well listen im not gonna tell you about a lotion but loreals gel dermo-expertise for face and body is so good... you should try it
Reply:no
Reply:http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=tanning...
Reply:yes. there definitely is. ermms. im nt sure wer to gt them. but de side effects of tanning lotions are that it may b an uneven tan. or smtimes it make turn orange den it will look realli awful.

I have been tanning in a tanning bed. i have noticed that there are some darker spots. what causes this?

certain parts of the bodies tan more easily than others. for example your stomach will take longer to tan than your face. it's nothing to worry about so don't worry.

I have been tanning in a tanning bed. i have noticed that there are some darker spots. what causes this?
its not good to tan cuz then u look ten years older then u really are, you can also damage ur skin. You also get many rinkles and sagz on ur skin
Reply:maybe its skin cause from the tanning bed.you should stop tanning for a while.cause tanning beds can give u skin cancer also
Reply:Well if your using a bed it will hit some parts of your body more like your ****, stomach...- Your better off using the stand up booth, its tans evenly all around..
Reply:Tanning beds are rather bad for your skin, and can cause skin problems, even cancer, further down the road. Check with your doctor.

All the best!

- Lauren
Reply:These could be sun spots, and they could be a sign of skin cancer, you need to get it checked out at your doctors. this is why you NEVER EVER use sunbeds, not only do they make u more wrinkly, but they hugely increase ur chances of cancer.
Reply:Tanning beds are not that good for your skin and you should be careful. The dark spots could also be besides a "cancer" sign a reaction if you are taking antibiotics and tanning. It happened to me this summer, but it is always a good idea to consult a dermatologist to be sure you are save. Good luck!
Reply:Tanning is really not good for you. It's probably starting to visibly affect your skin. Not a good sign. The more you tan, the higher chance of getting skin cancer.

Can I go tanning in a tanning salon 2 times in one day?

Does skin cancer appeal to you?

Can I go tanning in a tanning salon 2 times in one day?
you can do anything you want, however; i would not recommend it.

besides skin cancer, have you SEEN some women that have been tanning several days every week of their lives for years? it's nasty.
Reply:Would not recommend.
Reply:Sounds kinda dangerous, but personally I wouldn't go to a tanning salon even once in a day. The skin cancer really isn't worth it.
Reply:it depends if your tanning salon is unresponsible enough to let you. i wouldnt do it. 20 mins a day is the max you should ever go in a regular tanning bed. trust me, even that can be damaging.
Reply:My tanning salon will only permit me to go once - but I can imagine you are trying to get a tan as fast as possible for something coming up soon? Go in a Matrix tanner - it is alot faster.
Reply:Tanning is not so good for you, so you should do it in moderation. Maybe once a month.
Reply:It's best to avpid it as much as possible, causes skin cancer and damage. Try to have more healing time between sessions.
Reply:tanya, take my words of advice....i used to tan ALOT and i regret it everyday now. i constantly worry about skin cancer now for what i did in my teens. please stop tanning and get some good self tanner instead....
Reply:no. Your skin needs time inbetween, you are still tanning when you leave.
Reply:I'm sure that you CAN, however I do not recommend tanning salons at all. They are very bad for your skin. If you're into looking cute today and looking 60 when your 40 go for it.
Reply:I would suggest not to go twice a day or even everyday ,I heard of a girl several years back in my home State that went twice a day to different tanning salons an she become ill an her mom took her to hospital an she had internal organ damage from over exposure of tanning bed an unfortunately she did die because of this ,a tan is not worth it!!

What are good "tanning" tips/remedies ((for tanning in the sun, not a bed))?

What are good "tanning" tips/remedies ((for tanning in the sun, not a bed))?
Baby oil will attract the sun to you but be careful not to burn.
Reply:Any kind of moisturizer will help your skin tan. Also stay hydrated while you are out in the sun. Moisturize after you shower to help maintain your tan.
Reply:granola oil it works great
Reply:use tanning spray
Reply:Eat lots of: carrot, papaya, spinach, brocoli, red beets etc!
Reply:Are you crazy? Skin cancer is at an all time high! If you use anything, let it be sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30!
Reply:use oil sheen. its hair spray for blacks. no offense. but it works great. in a blue can

Reply:When you're tanning in the sun, you want to get a little tan each time you lay out because that tan stays. Be sure to constantly put on sunscreen that's like SPF 30.
Reply:not doing it at all is the best...skin cancer risks, and premature wrinkles...yuck. no thanks.
Reply:Go out and buy some tanning lotion any kind would work. and put it on before you go outside and lay in the sun

usually lay about 10 minutes on each side

Can polish people get a decent tan. I have been going to the tanning bed daily and am slowly tanning.?

I don't think it has much to do with your race, just your genes. Anyone's melanin can form to protect the skin unless they lack it altogether.

Can polish people get a decent tan. I have been going to the tanning bed daily and am slowly tanning.?
I am polish and I am white. I can get a tan it just takes me a little longer than everyone else. GOOD LUCK!!!
Reply:yeah just keep darkening your tan gradually.

PS i know a polish joke...what do you call a beautiful person in poland?.....A tourist lol ... hey im just just kidding dont get offended
Reply:It really has not too much to do with your ethnic background. It has too do with your genes and melonin. DON'T go in the tanning bed everyday. It is SO bad for your skin and your health. I'm 23 and one of my best friend already has skin cancer because she went on a daily basis. So only go once and a while and use lotion....same goes with outdoors. Try using the self tanning gel. I have friends who can't tan at all either and they use that and it works well. Good Luck!
Reply:I don't know if polish people can tan, but I am positive they can get melanoma.
