Does exercising before tanning help to increase the chance of tanning faster and/or darker? If not, any tips?

Excercising immediately before you tan increases circulation. This increase in circulation helps move the melanin around more evenly. But, it doesn't necessarily make you tan any darker.. just evens out the tan better.

You can get the same effect by buying a hot lotion (which also increases circulation in the skin). I always recommend a lotion when tanning. It helps moisturize the skin and keep it moist during the UV process (which leeches moisture from your skin).

I live in Florida, so I go for a long walk in the beach area. Combine sun, exercises!!!
Reply:Well what actually happens is, when you exercise you sweat, and your sweat leaves excess oil on your skin. That oil has the same effect as putting baby oil or aloe oil on your skin before you tan. You do burn | tan faster and (depending on your skin type) either darker or redder.

Its not particularly good for you. Picture oiling up a juicy roast before you put it in the oven. You're basically getting your skin ready to cook :) heehee. Enjoy though, and keep your face and neck in the shade. Even a little sun burn to this area will damage you for life.

And if however you do end up burning, run a lukewarm bath and put 'Rooibos' teabags (if you can find any in your country) in your bath.

It takes the pain away amazingly! And you heal faster.

Good luck!
Reply:I've never heard of that.
