I need to get a great tan. I am super pale. How do I get a great tan from a tanning salon?

I don't think you should, because no matter what, you'll always go pale again.

Red heads don't tan good.

I'm a red head, too, and a tanning salon feels fun, but it's so damaging to your skin.

Get a fake tan from a bottle! That way, you'll look great, and you won't hurt your skin with the fake lights.
Reply:it actually depends......i think you could do it....if you took the tanning bed way........cause that way.....you can go in different settings and work into your skin being more tan.......its much better than anything else and you can regulate it....so i suggest go for it and do the tanning bed.
Reply:First off, find a place that fits your price range. It'd also be good to find a place that allows you to buy many sessions at once for a little cheaper, since it sounds like you'll be going often. It'd probably be a good idea to buy your own tanning goggles ($1-5) and some tanning lotion. The lotion is very important for a good tan; look for one with hemp (keeps the skin from drying out), bronzer (for a little extra color), and a low SPF. I personally use Australian Gold Barely Legal Tanning Lotion, but you can pick whichever one suits you best. When you start going, only go 2-3 times a week for the first week or two. Since you're very pale, going more often than that at the beginning could really damage your skin. After that, you can go more often, though going every day is not recommended. Slowly build the time you tan at each session. Since you're so fair, definitely only go 5 minutes for the first session or two. Trust me, at my first session I tried to go 10, and I came out bright red. From 5 minutes build up to 7, then 10, then 15, then 20. If at 20 minute sessions your skin is handling okay, you can work your way up to 30 minutes, but you should never go any longer than that.

Good luck, and I hope you're super bronze before you know it!
Reply:I don't think that you should go to the tanning salon because it's bad for your skin. Sometimes, it has side effects that can occur later in your life or in a couple hours. My teacher said that her friends got a tan in one of those places 7 years ago and now their skin is more wrinkly and older than my teacher's even though they are the same age.

So i think that you should skip the salon and get a tan from a spray. it's less damaging and you can wash it off and experiment on how dark you want your skin to be. good luck and hope i helped.=]
