This is for people who have used spray-on tans or tanning cream...?

My skin is getting a bit too pale. I was thinking of sunbathing but because of the skin cancer problem I'm thinking of getting a spray-on instead.

Is that a good idea? Will it look fake? I don't want a really full-on tan, just a *really* light one so I won't look so pale. Will it look fake?

Also can I avoid skin cancer and keep my skin nice by always applying plenty of sunblock before sunbathing? Would that be a better option?

Spray on tans and sunless tanning lotion all work good. You want to shave and exfolliate your skin first with a good scrub. This will help the color go on evenly. After you get your tan keep your skin moisturized; you can use the Jergen's lotion that has a hint of sunless tanner in it.

If you want to avoid skin cancer and wrinkles avoid the sun and always use sunblock, even in winter. 2D

Reply:The spray tans are a very good option. You just have to be careful because alot of them can look orangy and fake. Ask around and be selective about where u go. It is also something you have to keep up every 5-7 days. It will start peeling off and will look like you have a crazy skin disorder. I know, because it happened to me!
Reply:I have frequently used Mystic tan -- that's when you go to the place and get it sprayed. I think it gives a more even coverage than doing it on my own. I have gotten comments on my tan sevral times, and no one has ever guessed it was sprayed on when I told them. If you do it, just be sure to cover your hands, wrists, feet and ankles with lotion. Otherwise people will know for sure it is fake!
Reply:they have some are pretty good. Not like they used to be

I like NO-AD brand. I'm talking about lotion kind
Reply:Spray tans and lotions are honestly a waste of money. They fade off quickly and you have to keep buying it. You wont get skin cancer from the natural sun as long as your smart about it and dont cover yourself in baby oil and sit outside for 6 hours. If you go to a tanning salon/tan outside once a week for 5-10 minutes, you'll get a light, natural tan and it wont be unhealthy. The vitamins you get from the lighting is good for you.
Reply:I got the mystic tan....however, I think that it was too dark and therefore looked orange. Go get a spray tan at a professional and expensive spa and ask for the lightest shade possible. However, I found that the self-tanners that I use at home with L'Oreal work a lot better than the expensive spray tans. THE victoria's secret models use them though....but save ur money and apply lotion with sunless tan instead.
